Hotel Silver Sands

Negombo is about 15 minutes drive from the airport so the Silver Sands is a great place to crash after a flight. They will arrange a pick-up from the airport which takes the hassle out of finding your way. I found this place great, the owner, Francis was lovely and all the staff were friendly. They lent me a plug adaptor when I asked and were generally very kind and polite. This place is like a home from home for me, I have visited here lots of times in groups and on my own and is usually my starting point for tours with Upul from Sri Lanka Tailored Tours. The hotel is a family hotel by the side of the beach where you can watch the fishing catamarans go out and later return. It is owned and run by Francis a wonderful gentleman who is around every day and for whom nothing is too much trouble.
