Palazzo Cendon

Upon advice from some Italian friends, I had the true pleasure of staying in this hotel on the Canareggio. The staff could not have been more accommodating, greeting me when arriving by water taxi on the wharf in front of the hotel, to attending to the many questions a visitor has in staying in Venice. My goal of this trip was to visit the Biennale, and while the hotel is located near the station, it is no problem to hop on a vaporetto, and enjoy the many architectural splendours on the canal en route to the Giardini or Arsenale<br... more

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in July 2007. Our room was spacious for an italian hotel room and was very clean. The bathroom was small but clean and modern. The only fault was that the shower was tiny. The continental breakfast was very nice. The staff were always friendly and they were very helpful when we needed to find a pharmacy in the area. We stayed in 4 different hotels in Italy and this was the nicest one. We made the booking through expedia.com.au

I was supposed to stay at this hotel on 22 May 2007, however my flight was cancelled along with every other flight to and from Italy due to an Italian Air Traffic Control strike. Jet2 were happy to refund the flight costs, however this Hotel, booked through Expedia, would not refund a penny. They didn't even offer to change the dates. Absolutely disgusting behaviour.

I booked this hotel as a surprise birthday trip to Venice for my wife. 1,000,000 brownie points later I can highly recommend this beautiful Palazzo. Upon arrival (and the water taxi driver from the airport hadn't heard of it - because, I suppose, it is such a recent and ongoing development of an old Palazzo) we were upgraded to the suite with the balcony overlooking Canareggio. We had planned a romantic weekend in Venice and we decided to stay at Palazzo Cendon, warmly reccommended to me by a friend. The Palazzo has just been converted into a small family-run hotel and finding its website was a bit of a hunt (-------). However, once contacted the owner, booking and getting there in the labyrint of the Venetial calli was very straight forward indeed.
