Conveniently located to the historical area (Cathedral); clean; limited TV channel selection (that's in English); helpful front desk; the lower rating (3 stars) mainly due to thin walls (ask for room away from the elevator); no safe in the room

The hotel was clean and the location was great. The staff was nice. Accessing the parking lot was a little inconvenient. It was located in a different building. A staff member had to walk to the garage with you whenever you access your vehicle. It required surgical precision to negotiate into and out of the lot. This is a minor point. Our room was ok. Stayed overnight on a trip around Spain June 24th 2004. The staff could not do enough to help, with tickets, buses, restaurants etc. Lovely clean room with new comfy beds. Great veiws and right across the street to historic sites. Would go again and stay longer.

We stayed at the Hotel Alcazar for 5 nights and had a very good experiance. The staff helped us each day with questions about sights, travel, and food. The room and bathroom was clean and perfect. We had a rental car which we parked in the hotel's very secure garage for 15 euros a night. It would have been very difficult to fine parking elsewhere. The only minor problem was the hotel is a little noisy. The walls are quite thin and hallway is a little loud. Overall, very nice and I would stay there again without hesitation.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Alcazar in mid-May 2004. It was selected based upon the two earlier favorable reviews on TripAdvisor.com. We agree with them completely and had a great 3 night stay. Here is some added information: The hotel fronts onto a major boulevard, so it is easy to get to and find (across the boulevard is the old city with narrow winding streets, and things can be confusing). The room was gorgeous and very clean. The view from the balcony was wonderful in the daytime and breathtaking at night. The staff spoke English and were reasonably helpful. Continental breakfast was included (croissants, toast, pastry, cornflakes, juices, milk, etc). Your view tells you that la Giralda and la Catedral are only a few blocks away. Most sites are within a few blocks (The Plaza de Espana, bullring, the Torre de Oro, the Santa Cruz section for shopping, etc). Without a doubt, I would go back to this hotel.

We drove to Seville just after New year from the Costa del Sol, and spent nearly two hours driving round within the walls looking for accommodation, only to find everywhere full or extortionately expensive. We had driven past the Alcazr, which is just outside the walls, a few times and it looks a bit 1970's from the outside, but out of desperation we stopped there, and i'm glad we did! Inside it is lovely, the staff were very friendly and there is secure parking too. The rooms are currently being refurbished, and we were given a great room.... more
