Convenient Location

"Conveniently located to the historical area (Cathedral); clean; limited TV channel selection (that's in English); helpful front desk; the lower rating (3 stars) mainly due to thin walls (ask for room away from the elevator); no safe in the room"

pretty good

"My husband and I stayed here for a night and were quite pleased. Ask for a front view room with a balcony. The location was about 10-15 minute walk to most of the major sites. The staff was pretty friendly. However, if you want to see a flamenco show, visit the Seville tourist office for the best deals rather than inquiring from the hotel staff. Their prices were significantly higher than that of the tourist office. Or, just buy tickets directly from the show, rather than from the hotel."

Thin walls

"Hotel is well located and easy to access when driving into the city. It is located only a short walk from the prime historic area (Cathedral, Jewish Quarter and Alcazar). It is located on a busy road but we had a room at the back. Rooms were very basic and bathroom was very small. Real problem is the noise in the hotel. The first morning we were woken by the cleaning ladies shouting at each other (all the hallways are tiled so the sound travels). I was woken at 3 am the following morning by the sound of a couple being amorous (not sure if they were in a room above, below or next to mine but they sounded close!!). The cleaning ladies began their rounds again later on.

We got a good rate (€60 per night ex tax) but I wouldn't stay there again.

clean, good location, helpful staff

"The hotel was clean and the location was great. The staff was nice.

Accessing the parking lot was a little inconvenient. It was located in a different building. A staff member had to walk to the garage with you whenever you access your vehicle. It required surgical precision to negotiate into and out of the lot. This is a minor point.

Our room was ok. There was a token window that faced a small dark enclosed area. It was like not having a window. Fortunately I am not claustaphobic.

There is a simple continental breakfast that is included.

I would stay there again but would request a view. This review is really a three star review but a relative who is a local told me that he refers friends to stay there all the time.

Immaculate rooms, excellent staff, great location

"Stayed overnight on a trip around Spain June 24th 2004. The staff could not do enough to help, with tickets, buses, restaurants etc. Lovely clean room with new comfy beds. Great veiws and right across the street to historic sites. Would go again and stay longer."

Great location, very nice and helpful staff

"We stayed at the Hotel Alcazar for 5 nights and had a very good experiance. The staff helped us each day with questions about sights, travel, and food. The room and bathroom was clean and perfect. We had a rental car which we parked in the hotel's very secure garage for 15 euros a night. It would have been very difficult to fine parking elsewhere. The only minor problem was the hotel is a little noisy. The walls are quite thin and hallway is a little loud. Overall, very nice and I would stay there again without hesitation."

Great Location and Value

"My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Alcazar in mid-May 2004. It was selected based upon the two earlier favorable reviews on We agree with them completely and had a great 3 night stay.

Here is some added information:

The hotel fronts onto a major boulevard, so it is

easy to get to and find (across the boulevard is the old city with narrow winding streets, and things can

be confusing). We requested a quiet room and we received one in the back (not facing the boulevard nor the gardens). It had a balcony, was quiet, clean and large.

The television program available in English is DW, which alternates news summaries between German and English.

The location was especially good and the price of 103 Euros ( plus 7% VAT), including breakfast, was

very reasonable for a mid-May visit.

Great Hotel! Fantastic View! Perfect Location!

"The room was gorgeous and very clean. The view from the balcony was wonderful in the daytime and breathtaking at night. The staff spoke English and were reasonably helpful. Continental breakfast was included (croissants, toast, pastry, cornflakes, juices, milk, etc). Your view tells you that la Giralda and la Catedral are only a few blocks away.

Most sites are within a few blocks (The Plaza de Espana, bullring, the Torre de Oro, the Santa Cruz section for shopping, etc). Without a doubt, I would go back to this hotel.

A great place to stay in Seville

"We drove to Seville just after New year from the Costa del Sol, and spent nearly two hours driving round within the walls looking for accommodation, only to find everywhere full or extortionately expensive. We had driven past the Alcazr, which is just outside the walls, a few times and it looks a bit 1970's from the outside, but out of desperation we stopped there, and i'm glad we did! Inside it is lovely, the staff were very friendly and there is secure parking too. The rooms are currently being refurbished, and we were given a great room. Everything was new and had a fantastic view over the old town incl the cathedral that is illuminated at night from the balcony. The price was very reasonable 75 Euros, plus a bit extra for parking which includes a continental self service breakfast. I would definitely recommend this hotel!"
