Alcazar de la Reina Hotel

Did extensive research and decided on this hotel in this small little town. The hotel was great. Rooms are new, clean and spacious and have character. Ate at the Casa de Carmona and the parador and here was the best. Actually stayed at the parador one night and it was such a great disappointement (see the review under that hotel). Drove into Seville and drove to Cordoba. Not much to do in Carmona- but nice place to stay. Highly recommend.

We came across this charming hotel on our way to the Casa de Carmona hotel next door -- which was much more expensive, and though lovely, not any nicer than this hotel. So...we opted to stay at the Alcazar de la Reina instead. We were delighted with the service, the spacious room, the fantastic pool and the lovely public rooms and courtyard. The marble hallways are wide -- a stark contrast to Madrid hotels which feel so much more congested . A beautiful hotel with charming, spacious rooms, a lovely patio with pool, smiles and incredible helpfulness from the staff. the restaurant is a MUST - especially dessert - make sure you leave room for it, or don't ahve any other course! try for a room with a view over the vega - great sunsets.
