The Ayubowan Guesthouse

I spent two nights here winding down from a trip to Malaysia and thoroughly enjoyed it. Ron and Brenda were great. They helped organize a scooter rental and sent me on my way each morning with a wonderful breakfast. The room was immaculate, the food a delight, and the surroundings peaceful. Excellent hosts and a very reasonable price.

As first-time visitors to Sri Lanka, we couldn't thank Ron enough for personally coming to the airport to meet us at 1:00 in the morning. Upon arriving, we were grateful for the tremendous hospitality both he and Brenda showed us in welcoming us into their home and sharing their own experiences about their time in the country. A lovely English couple Brenda and Ron run this charming guest house in a quiet residential road in Negombo. Very convenient for airport as only 15 minutes drive. All spotless and immaculate with lovely dinner provided. We were up for an early flight (they arranged transport to airport for us) and Brenda provided us with a very welcome breakfast to eat at the airport (just as well as our flight was delayed 2 hours). I agree with all the previous reviews, this guest house was heaven. I origionally planned to stay the first three nights of my trip but ended up staying the last the last 3 as well. Ambience is perfect and I spent hours in the pool relaxing and admiring the beautiful gardens. The rooms were spotless and modern as was the rest of the house. The meals delicious and Ron and Brenda happily arranged trustworthy drivers for me when needed. Close to a resturant strip although I mostly ate at the guest house. Highly recommended... more

Would thoroughly recommend this guest house for a stay in Sri Lanka. Run by British couple Ron & Brenda who retired to Sri Lanka about 5 years ago. The house is absolutely fabulous, immaculately clean and has a superb swimming pool - nice for a dip after a hot day either in the sun or sightseeing. Ron & Brenda are the perfect hosts - and also their Boxer dog Annie! We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis.
