Hostal Benidorm

we booked this after reading the reviews here and were just expecting something decent and clean but not too fancy, and thats what we got. the rooms were spotless, the rest of the hotel was also very very clean. staff at the front desk were mostly friendly too. was slightly noisy at night but nothing too much, only complaint is we booked a double room and got a twin but we just shoved the beds together. the location is right slap bang in the middle of the tourist area which was perfect so we could walk everywhere. would definately recommend... more

The place was actually a nice surprise since out initial expectations weren't really that good. The rooms were basic but very clean and comfortable. Great if you're only looking for a place to rest at night and recover for the next day. The Ramblas can be very noisy (especially on weekend nights) and that can be a disadvantage for some people who can't sleep with noise. This was one of the worst places I've ever stayed at, so I moved out after 3 nights (out of a total of 8)... Well, the rooms are very basic, but clean (which does not apply to the stairs leading up to the hostal, where a heap of human faeces kept rotting and stinking for a day...) The place itself is a nightmare - especially for a decent young female travellor. Full of strange people - quite some of them did not seem the decent kind.
