Everything we hoped for

I found the Casanova ai Tolentini on Trip Advisor whilst looking for somewhere to stay in Venice for our wedding anniversary in January. We had a wonderful four night stay here, our de luxe room was very large, comfortably furnished, warm and beautifully clean as was the bathroom. Alberto and Monica presented us with a bottle of sparkling wine to mark our anniversary and Alberto was always around to help when necessary. Charming

This was a great find. The room was charming and the hospitality was wonderful. Alberto and Monica helped us learn the secrets of Venice quickly. The location was also nice and we enjoyed breakfast each morning by the water. I'd definitely stay here again when I return to Venice.
Very Enjoyable

This is a great value in Venice. The location is excellent, the room is HUGE (although the bathroom was not), the owners were very nice and spoke decent English. A bottle of wine upon our arrival was a welcome sight! The Internet connection was the fastest on our entire European trip -- even faster than my 6mb connection in the US. I cant wait to return to Venice and the Casanova ai Tolentini.
Good in general - couple of bugbears

Difficult to find, nice local lady spent 20 minutes helping us find the hotel. Checked in only to find that despite advertising as Credit Card welcome, wouldn't accept Visa, therefore had to to pay in Euros - took most of our spare cash - BEWARE!! Given an apartment. It was nice - ok decor, clean. On our first morning, horrified to find that whilst getting ready for a days sightseeing, the owner showed in 2 guests in to the apartment to settle their bill. There was no knock at the door before he unlocked the door - very strange (and scary)??...

I've been quite surprise of the review basically for two main reason: 1) in all the e-mail we write, either the offer or the confermation we ask for a call once in Venice to pick up the guest wherever thwy arrive, from the train station or Piazzale Roma just because we perfectly know Venice might be a labirint. Please don't complain you you don't follow the instruction. 2) we do not rent appartment but room, in the specific case the room was with external bathroom ( the only one we have ) the rest of the flat was part of the common area, i don't think to be obliged to ask the permission to enter in my home, non the less i will never enter in an occupied room without the permission of the guests.

My daughter and I stayed at Alberto's B&B for two nights. The room was very clean and had a nice private bathroom and free Internet service. It is located on a very quiet, scenic canal and within walking distance of the train station. Just a tip, the place is easy to get to, but the directions on the site aren't too clear. Coming out of the train station, go across the bridge and turn right. When you get to the next bridge about 2 blocks down, turn left before you cross the bridge.
