L'Hacienda

This is my 2nd time in Koh Samui. We stayed on the ground floor room #1 for several nights. Here are pro's and con's about this room and the hotel. Pro's: - This room is right by the beach so you feel like it's your private beach. - This room comes with beach chairs so you can relax, read a book, stare the wave, look up the sky, or what ever you wish to do. - The room was clean, the bed was big enoght for 2 people and comfortable. - A nice swimming pool on the roof of this hotel. We stayed in the sea front room located on the ground floor. To access the room you needed to gain access by walking down the side of the hotel. This was no problem but on occasions the lights at the side were not switched on and made it quite dangerous to get to especially if it was wet. Be sure you know the person you stay with very well as the bathroom is seperated from the bedroom by a low wall and bamboo blinds that come down to give you minimal privacy as you can still see and hear everything that is going on. This hotel is simply perfect. It is located in the nice little fishermen's village on Bophut beach far from the glaucous bars of Chaweng and Lamai beach. The hotel is composed of 8 rooms with a penthouse swimming pool with an uncredible view on the coast and the ocean. The rooms are decorated in a pretty Thaï style and are impressed of serenity. The owners and the staff are very nice. I recommend you the rooms 1 & 2 which are at the ground floor and the only one with large privative balcony and direct access to the beach. As for the... more

The L'Hacienda is a small hotel, located right on Bophut beach. It has about 12 rooms, all furnished to a mediterranean style with Thai decorations - quite unique. The hotel has recently been renovated by its French owners, and most rooms have patio doors that open out onto a small balcony, overlooking the beach. A nice touch is the rooftop pool, which you can cool off in, while enjoying the elevated views of Koh Phangan.
