Ca Centopietre

First off, this is a B&B/Inn, not really a hotel perse. Having said that, it is a great value for what you get. My husband and I spent 1 night here while traveling all over Italy in June. Initially, I was a bit wary of booking this online, as there were no existing reviews. However, my email correspondence with Carlo, the innkeeper, assuaged my concerns. The hotel (more a B&B really) is easy walking distance from both the bus and train stations (15 minutes), crossing 5 small bridges from the bus station although we approached it from the Accademia bridge. It really is only 2 minutes from the bridge, but it took us a lot longer than that to find it, down a series of not very well signed alleyways. We arrived in Venice by train late in the afternoon to some really hot and humid weather. We followed the very detailed instructions that were e-mailed to us by Carlo, the proprietor, that took us via vaporetto (water bus) from the train station to the Accademia stop next to the Gallerie dell'Accademia museum. The small pensione-type hotel was very centrally located. Carlo was fantastic!
