Al Palazzetto

We had a wonderful time in Al Palazzetto. The location is just perfect, quietely tucked away in a side street on the corner of a typical Venecian canal yet close to all major attractions. The hotel is just steps away from the canal bus stop and close to many great restaurants. (One of Venice's best fish restaurants is right around the corner - check it out!). We stayed in La Palazzetto for three nights, at the end of August. We had the attic room. Spacious, but a bit low if you're very tall. The building has three floors. You enter the 'basement' where there are real doors to the canal; you can see the water level change during the day. The breakfast room is at the first floor, with an beautifull Venetian stone floor and antique furniture. A beautiful desk is there for the reception function. We took our family group of 11 to Venice and rented out 4 of the rooms at the Palazzetto for 4 days in late June, 2005. We had the whole floor to ourselves and loved the feel of the B & B that allowed us to visit in the lobby/dining area. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and we loved the air conditioning. The location was excellent - the Ca'Oro vaporetta stop on the Grand Canal was just down the street. The B & B is on a quiet canal but just a few minutes walk from Strada Nuova where there was lots of shopping and restaurants.... more
