My friend and I spent three nights/4 days in Venice. I found this little jewel of a B&B over the internet. You really never know what you are going to get - sometimes it's like a throw of the dice.
Eleonora, our hostess was welcoming and friendly. As the days went by we learned that she has quite a sense of humor (as well as her husband). They were extremely helpful in helping us decide where to eat, what we should see, etc.
Our room which was equipped with two twin beds (which we requested), was lovely and bright. The room had several windows which overlooks a canal where you can see gondolas going by. As soon as we entered our room we heard a singer singing Italian opera on one of the gondolas floating by...wow! The rooms are air conditioned (thank heavens) and was very comfortable. We actually got cold one night because we had the A/C turned down so low. The bathrooms are well equipped as well. Bring washcloths. (We never saw a one in all of Italy. Take a bar of soap too!)
We stayed in several B&B's and we probably enjoyed Eleonora's Breakfast the best. Please note that Italians are not into breakfast like America's are. They will have an espresso and maybe a croissant. That's it. Eleonora had three types of cereal (something that is hard to find in Italy), fruit, tiramisu, juice, coffee (or she will make you a cappuccino), croissant's and pastries. Yummy!
Also, note that this B&B is Eleanor's home. Your living area (with computer access, TV, etc.) is their living area. You are guests in their home. One night we came back to the B&B early (b/c we had an early flight) and they were having a dinner party with some of their friends. This did not bother us in the least but it's not something you will usually run into in the States.
The B&B is very easy to get to and Eleonora's directions were perfect. The B&B is walking distance from San Marco.
I will be happy to correspond with anyone in regard to this B&B. My email address is JackieS0812@hotmail.com.
