Palazzo Rosa

This hotel was a great find for us! We had a triple room, which was huge, very clean, and it had a view of the canal, which was so fun. The hotel is very different than any other hotel I have ever stayed in. It was built in the year 200, according to the front desk clerk. The building used to be huge apartments (all on their own level), and the apartments have since been converted into businesses. The hotel occupies the third level. My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel in early May 2006. We stayed in a deluxe room which was spacious and airy with a VERY large double bed. The bathroom was quite large with a shower(we did have a problem closing the shower door, but it is hard to get everything perfect in such an old building) and had a view of a small canal. This could get a little noisy in the mornings, but for me added to the ambience of Venice. The Palazzo la Residenza consists of six rooms on the second floor of a renovated Venician Palazzo. We stayed in room 202 - their double superior. It was gorgeous!! From the beautiful terazzo/marble floors to the original fresco on the high, high, ceiling. The room was spacious with a side canal view. The Director was awsome - super helpful and proactive. We didn't even have to go to the tourist office while in Venice, because he was so helpful and would download info from the internet for us, without us even asking. The entire staff is... more
