The hotel was ten times better than i thought it was going to be. I paid budget price and i got much better.
The food was good if you look at what was on offer, ASK if you find it that bad, we met a lady who didnt like seasoned food, she asked for and got a full unseasond cook chicken every night, others who had gluten problems got things done special, dont just whinge ASK.
The Italian was very good but the BBQ I must admit was not up to scratch.
The drinks were served in plastic glasses during the day, common sense around a pool area i would think, ok so they were not always full to the top, Smile to waiter, speak nice and it is amazing how your glasses get filled up.
Entertainment was abysmal, this is there main downfall, so please sunrise group get it sorted.
The workers deserve so much more than they get, it was ramadan and they could not eat or drink, i would have found this hard after 1 hour, give them a break, they smile and treat us all like kings and queens

Hotel spotless staff friendly, food a little repetitive, but arent most all inclusives you would be hard pushed to not find something you liked. We took extra care what we ate after being told about egyptian belly, but out of our party of 6, 4 had bouts of real bad tummy pains but we all ate the same things i think its just everyones individual tolerance to food abroad.Entertainment o.k though not enough to entertain teens for 2 weeks.Reveiws prior to us arriving were pretty mixed but im glad we went.Trips on quads great value for money we booked with the guy who takes the photos in the hotel he is much cheaper and you get longer with him than the other reps you can haggle a bit too.We had a great time in egypt but heres the important bit ,we had read all the reports in England about henna tattoos and how they can scar so we told our 12 yr old no way could he have one,the lad at the hotel said that he used a proper mix of henna and that he would do a 24 hour skin test just to check, eventually against all my gut instincts my son had one done on his arm, no reaction at all it looked great ( it wore off after 3 days of constant swimming) but the deal is he refreshes it the day before you go home free of charge true to his word he did. We flew home thursday, sunday his arm came up in a red rash all around the tattoo, went to casualty they said he had an alergic reaction gave him cream ,he has since had 2 different types it is fading but have been told it will scar. When i asked why it had taken so long to react i was informed that he had only reacted to the second tattoo and that the strength of the mixture could have been stronger or a different type of henna than the first lot he used. Please be warned my son now has a permanent reminder of egypt(his name in arabic)all down his arm. Ending on a good note overall we had a great time here we used the sister hotel a couple of times only to go to the beach that was nice too, the staff are friendly and really helpful just be polite that seems to go a long way in egypt thats why they really like the english.Hope this reveiw has helped you ,enjoy your hols.

firstly we checked out all the reviews prior to booking, so will cover off the bad points first!
1. Not much adult entertainment at the gardens hotel
2. No vinegar with the chips
3. thats it....
Now for the goods points....
1.rooms are cleaned daily and at very good standard
2. Hotel, pool, and surrounding areas are constantley cleaned
3. out door bar staff (ALI) very helpfull, friendly and funny
4. inside bar staff (WAHEED) very funny friendly and funny
5. safety deposit box you are able to set your own code
6. food wide variety and would recomend the omlette and beef bacon for brekfast
7. no pressure from the animation team or any other staff
8. staff very very helpfull
9. close to proximity to sister hotel if you require the beach, you can walk to it under two mins but easier to catch the bus every five mins
10. we were there on honeymoon and will never forget it.
ok, following on from previos review with people saying about stoloen monies, it makes us laugh how the value of money stolen is always just short of the maximum vakue that you can claim on your insurance and as regards the master key there is no key hole in the safe.
Airport noise, this is harley noticable however if you plan to get a taxi on arrival, we were charged 200 egyptian pounds (£20.00) but if you are able to contact the hotel pre book at it is only 50 egyptian pounds (£5.00).
Food
brekfast 7-10.30 good selection
pool side 11-4.00 fries, burgers kebabbs hotdog and pizza
Lunch 1-3.00 very good selection
dinner 7-10.30 good selection with a themed corner, i.e, italian, mexican, russian etc
overall
would seriously recomend this hotel to couples andf families who want a relaxing atmosphere for their whole duraton.
snorkiling, save your money and do it from the beach.
Final note with regard to other reviws, i.e breaking into the security boxes why have that much cash when you are that inclusive ??????????????????

it was our second holiday to this hotel so we were really looking forward to our stay. It was really, really hot! There were 13 of us in total youngest being 10 months and oldest 51 ! The food was much better than in 2006, they seem to be catering more for the brits than the russians NOW! I do have to say that 10 from our group were ill with tummy problems, some of which were really bad!!! we took our 10 month old to the onsite doc who told us it was some gastric virus. he charged 50 euros plus medicine £6. We were told to keep him out of the pool and out of aircon ! It did seem to work within hours! The supermarkets in the area were a major rip off! They make their prices up according to what they think they can get out of you, we actually witnessed them doing it! One of the things that had changed the most was the staff , they were so friendly in 2006, but this time about 1/3 of them were really rude to you if you didn't tip them EVERY TIME you asked them for anything! I don't mind tipping for somthing thats deserved but they really did expect it all the time. I am so sad as this held so many good memories from our first holiday there. I don't think i'll be trying it again for a few years.

Just came back from a nightmare. We booked two weeks .
On the 9th day (booked two weeks) we had our safe opened and the equivalent of £420 stolen from the safe. A very kind British Police Officer concluded that it was opened by the master key which is accessible by quite a few management personnel. The local Wingtour rep (Named: Imad Ahmad) was totally useless and could not even comprehend English. The resort management tried every trick to hush the matter and even went as far as urging me to say that the money was stolen outside the premises before they would agree to call the police. I made sure that all British Tourists were informed to take a better care of their belongings. We also found out that other tourists had small amounts of money stolen ( Small amounts but adding it up would surely be a lot in Egypt} with the exception of a holimaker from Manchester who had £560 stolen from his wallet. We were promised a full refund by the general manager G. Acashah. It turned out he was lying to buy time to keep us quiet. WE left the matter with the egyptian police . We are still mystified The Egyptian Police did not take our corresponding details to inform us about the outcome of their investigations. We had to spend our last 5 days of holiday waiting for a presumably management meeting after management meetings and at all times they were completely reluctant to summon the police. WE have never experienced a worse senario of incompetence and corruption in a hotel management. They would not even give us the correct details of their managing director ( Phillip Visciya) as we need to lodge a complaint and report all the malpractice of the resort mismanagement.
As for the resort itself it really is no more than a holiday camp with monotomous music blurring loudly at 10 am to drown the noise from the aircrafts at the nearby airport, so if we had a late night there is always the daily alarm waking us up at 10 am. The pools are ok as our children really enjoyed them. The food is mostly flavourless and the meat is always undercooked. The barbecue was good ( we had it twice( but the Italian Restaurant was utter rubbish. We went there for dinner and we were in and out in 20 minutes. The 5 pizzas we ordered hardly had any tomatoes or cheese and the dough hardly changed colour due to lack of proper oven heat.
The employees in the bar were very helpful ( Ali always made us a very decent cup of tea and we had no hassle for tipping)
The rooms are medium sized. The fridge in our childrens room never worked despite numerous reporting. The telephone hand set was faulty from day 1 and never replaced. I do not understand how one writer mentioned soft drinks in the fridge when we had two empty fridges throught two weeks with one fridge out of commission all that time.
The Health Club which is affiliated to the resort under its own management was really excellent and good value for money. We went there twice and were very pleased with the health treatment and professional massage. We had the sauna, steam bath, Jacuzzi and massage for less than £28 each.
We went there with an open mind about any expectation , however we never thought that we would be robbed by those who are there to protect our belongings and interests.
We are very grateful to Jason ( from Kent Police Force) and his wife and children for all the help and moral support they extended to our family . Also accompanying us to Naama Bey Police station and staying with us till nearly 4 am to make a statement regarding the theft having cancelled their prior night booking arrangements to do that.

Last year me and my friend went to sunrise Island Gardens...the first time in Egypt. It was FANTASTIC.... the staff at this hotel were so friendly, especially the animation team which consisted of Shaggy, Chicko and Alla. They worked hard all day to keep entertainment going for adults and children. The atmosphere was relaxing and peaceful, the weather for November was about 30 degrees. We did one trip to the sinai desert and rode camels...what an experience, we travelled fast in jeeps over bumpy desert, it was so much fun and worth the money!! We later found out that as guests at the sunrise island gardens were were allowed to travel to the sister hotel sunrise Island View and experience the night time entertainment there... which was actually better, they have an outside ampitheatre and you sit underneath the stars, the entertainment is fab...we met with the animators in this hotel which included... Mario, Hamdin, Bepo, Tanya, Roslan, kojo - they were all so friendly and definately entertained us!!
The value for money for overall was worth every penny. I enjoyed the food, I loved the hotel, it also had beauty treatments available, for extra cost. The plane ride with Thomas Cook, wasnt fantastic....for a 5hour trip, the plane was cramped but that would be my only complaint. Egyptian life is different to english life and we should understand that the hotel is measured on egyptian 5star standard. Its nice to experience culture and diversity. I would recommend this hotel and I would certainly be going back again. Hopefully to see the animators if they still work there.

nice hotel. very clean nice pools and thats about it that was nice
Food for awful, evening meal was like a school dinner hall and you had to fight for a table.
Evening entertainment was 2 strange people singing terribly this was the same every night.
Had to fight for a sunbed round the pool. you could always get one on the rock beach but it was far to hot down there.
Moved to the rotana hotel after 3days which was heaven.

My boyfriend and I aged 23 visited Egypt for the first time in June and enjoyed every minute. The weather was 40 degrees everyday it was gorgeous however sometimes a little too hot. Take with you a high factor sunscreen, a hat and a bottle off cool mist, but if your too hot escape to your air con room its amazing. Talking about the room its a good size with a good size bathroom not five star more 3/4 star but always cleaned and freshen to a very high standard. The balacony either looks over beautiful grounds that were maintained on a daily basis or the pool. Yes do not get put off by how close the airport is, it did not disturb us at all while on our holiday.
The rest of the complex well drink plenty of bottled water and although the option of food is amazing breakfast, lunch and dinner do watch what you eat again pack tummy settlers. There is a small local store literally outside which help with the chocolate cravings however nothing is frigerated so put it straight into your fridge in your room. The staff all around the complex are fantastic again so polite and at your every need.. There were a few annoying members of the team the man at the Sauna Place who would constantly question why you were yet to have a massage, not my thing however it was a reasonable priced.
What more is there oh trips the submarine boat trip would not recommend its over priced for what you see, quad biking however wow definitely do this you will need a scarf to wrap around your head and take a bottle of water again.
Oh and as far as it goes with sun beds get down there early I sent my boyfriend down to the pool at 6:30am and we still struggled to get good spaces.
If you want to travel outside book the cab provided or the mini bus to Naama Bay Pacha and Hard Rock Cafe a really westernised place or the Old Market and do not get put off by what people say I had a pleasent experience very welcoming and make sure your not paying the asking price..
Just takes lots of pictures and have a fantastic time really suitable for couples who want to relax and do visit the sister hotel which is a 5 min walk and is really is a 5 star.

Having read some of the other reports we attended the resort with some apprehension, but were we surprised, the rooms were clean and more than adequate for use, the air conditioning was the best we have ever had in this country or abroad( with the temp in the 40s needed.), The restaurants were good and provided a good choice each day for each meal, at no meal time did we find that their was nothing to choose from, the staff were helpful and polite at all times, even the hardworking little man by the activity pool who seemed to work endlessly from 7.30am until gone 8pm, the only regret I have is that i did not stay for two weeks, very good value for money. A big well donde to all the staff and management at the SUNRISE ISLAND

What can I say, other than excellent value for money!
The staff go out of there way to help, without a tip, even so we tipped aprox £2 at the end of the night in either pound coins if lacking the Egyptian notes of the same value and with this tip the service was shockingly good, drinks brought to your table without having to even go to the bar, and you got upgraded from plastic to the decent glass ones, not to mention the volumes in the spirits crept up a little ;) .
They also kept up the excellent service in the eating areas and the hotel in general was spotless!
The pools are all in excellent shape, cleaned and supervised by at least 1 staff member at all times, however you did have to get up early to reserve a sun bed , my partner and myself got up at 7am local time for breakfast and put our towels out, even then over half where taken!
Pool 3 seemed to be very English, although there were Russian, German, polish and a few others there 2. Although I must say I was pleasantly surprised with there actions, after reading this site I was concerned about them being mentioned as rude etc, however on all encounters I had with them they were polite, friendly and overall respectful around the pool, in the eating areas and at the bars!
The beech was kept clean and tidy, with lifeguards on each of the 2 jetties keeping an eye on people, and seemed to take it very seriously, the water and water life was amazing, even if your are not a swimmer I suggest taking a walk up to the end of the jetty and just sit as the fish swim right up to the surface and the water is so clear you can see to the bottom anyway!
Going under water is simply breathtaking, the water is so clear u can see almost as far as you can on land, with a vast array of life everywhere u look!
The food was to a high standard, when made all the cooks wore gloves and there was a selection of around 20 dishes, the only problem was they were mostly the same dishes for each type of meal, i.e. 20 for breakfast, 20 for lunch, 20 for dinner, however I suggest just taking 4/5 things per meal, like you would in England, then you wont get bored of the dishes and there is also the snack bar out front doing chips, pizza, burgers etc to help alternate.
I would suggest that during meals, in particular dinner that people either set out for there meal either soon as it opens ie for dinner (6:30) or later on (8:30-9) to ensure getting a seat, although it is a large area 1000 people all rushing to eat around 7 makes it difficult to get a seat, so grab a glass and fill up on some juice, find a table, plonk down your things and then get a plate and scoff away, as its alot easier to find the seat when you don’t have a plate with thing that you just know you will drop when looking for a table :) and also they are not cheap when giving drinks for meals, selection of 3 different juices you can top up on your own at any time, and large glasses with real Pepsi, 7up, fizzy orange and water in large glasses + alcoholic drinks for lunch or dinner.
The rooms where large, well kept and come stocked when you arrive with 2 Pepsi bottles, 2 7up and 2 fizzy orange drinks + 2 mineral water, the mineral water gets 2 new bottles added daily but you only get the 6 bottled fizzes to last with one new batch per week.
We were however lacking a bottle opener for said bottles, but fear not the handles on the cupboards act as a perfect opener, save buying one if you did not bring your own.
Last tip, if you get a cab get it from the hotel taxi service or a blue and white taxi as they have set price lists, I saw a few people getting rather ripped off when using other firms.
Overall this holiday was excellent, and great value for money!

It was amazing vacation with my wife, we got what we were expecting....we are from Holand living in UK
Although the begining was stressing all the time waitng and the paper work that we had to do when we arrive but I think it's what happen in the hotels...
The food was fine just sometimes we felt it repetitive but that didnt make us no enjoying our trip...
The staff they are always at service, although we heard complains from other guest but we enjoying our time, the bedroom was comfortable the noise from the airport you can hear it just the first day but after that you get use to...
The beach in the sister hotel has beautiful view and you can see coral by yourself, just be careful with them or the safeguard will be on you all the time...
The sun beds you have to be ready for get up early and have your own otherwise you can lose the good ones, always the towels are able and clean, the guys in the swiming pool are nice people , well all egyptian people are so friendly...
We went to the shops in the hotel and we went just for a look but the guys are so friendly that we couldn't resist to be inside of them, not in all we bought but we got in love with the perfume shop, there's so relaxing area that even my wife didn't want to go so there we met our "friend" VODA, after gave us tea and talk us about the perfumes we were in love of the products which until now we really recomended them they are so lasting, good quality and so great prices (that the best) the Sun Tan Oil is amazing and how we could had our tan perfect, but of course follow the instructions that Mr VODA will give to you, and you will love it, any way we came back for more products and a lots of presents for our friends ... and the best EXCELLENT PRICES!!!!
We went to Naama Bay it's nice for hanging around and good restaurants we heard about good prices in somethings but not really and we check the quality and no way there's not good at all, is so cheap quality, and not lasting at all we had a prove and when the time passes also the product...
Don't think twice and go to the resort, and don't forget to pass by to Voda's Shop really really nice guy, which also will show you magic, play magic cards and really was a person who made our trip more enjoyable because of him we will come back to this hotel, even now we still in contact but nothing like we miss him as our truthly friend
