an oasis of calm
We spent a week here visiting Venice and some of the lagoon islands. Villa Casanova made a perfect base. Our room was cool, spacious and quiet, it was also immaculately clean. An excellent breakfast (orange juice, cereals, fruit, yogurt, croissants, rolls and more......) set us up for a day's sightseeing. When we returned in the evening the tranquility was just what we wanted. It is in a residential road that does not have a 'touristy' feel. There was a choice of restaurants withing easy walking distance. The staff were welcoming,... more
Very nice! Reasonably priced and clean!
Villa Casanova in Venice (Lido), Italy: We stayed at the Villa Casanova on Lido Island in March 2006. This is a beautiful old house renovated into an Inn, with wooden floors, heated towel racks and wooden shutters on the windows. Breakfast (cereal, rolls, salami, cheese, cappuchino) was included. The prices were very reasonable. The hotel was immaculate and clean. We loved it! From the train station in Venice, take the water bus on the Grand Canal to the last stop, a 5 to 10 minute ride. Then a 5-minute walk.
Lido my love
Very very cute hotel , on a quite street , excelent conditions . Recommand to all my friends who go to Venice . Single problem if you go by car , you must park on the street . They have a parking but at few minutes distance and is no under surveilance .
A Little Gem!
This is a little gem of a hotel situated in a quiet residential street on the Lido and just 5 minutes away from the vaporetto stop over to the city itself. It is spotlessly clean, the rooms are a good size and very reasonably priced. The friendly owner, Alessandro, will serve you a hearty breakfast (with real coffee!) and is happy to advise on all the attractions and travel facilities of the locality and Venice itself. This is where we shall stay again the next time we visit Venice!
Superb
We stayed 3 nights at Villa Casanova and were very impressed. The staff were helpful and the breakfast was excellent. I especially loved the Lido A word of advise - travel light, while it is only a 10 minute walk from the water bus to the hotel, it can be difficult if you have heavy luggage.
convenient location ,good clean accomodation friendly staff
our stay here was very pleasant with the staff always helpful and courteous we stayed in a ground floor triple room which was ideal as we had our 4 yr old son with us. the breakfast continental style was good with freshly baked pastries and wonderful cappuchinos. the location is about 10 mins from the waterbus station and 15 mins ride into venice. the entire holiday was unproblematical and getting into the lido from the airport is painless. use alliguana waterbus from airport tickets were on sale at the airport 10 euros each way.... more
loved Villa Casanova, loved Venice
All the previous reviews do justice to the villa casanova. Within a 10 mins walk of the boat station just enough walking for a person in there 60's. Situated in a quite tree lined street, but 5 mins walk from the centre with supermarkets shops bars etc. beach 15 mins walk but good bus service. Boats from the Lido go direct to Murano, Burano and of course Venice, which makes it a perfect base. A fast boat will get you to St Marks in 10 mins, or the number one boat will take you all the way up the Grand canel in 60 minutes, all this... more
Fell in love with Casanova
We have just returned from a week at the wonderful Villa Casanova on the Lido in Venice. We decided to stay on the Lido to combine the beach and the culture. Unfortunately it did not quite work out like that due to the weather but more on that later. We chose the Casanova because of the reviews on this forum. I also got the Venice card because of the forum. I booked online prior to arrival at Marco Polo and it was all remarkably easy. On leaving arrivals you turn left and there are the ticket offices, the tickets were waiting and we... more
