Hotel Alpenstuben

Hotel has lovely views of Schloss Neuschwannstein, a genuine fairytale Bavarian castle. Worth paying a little extra for the view. The village is buzzing with tourists in the day, but quietens down at night - hotel therefore quiet even though it is the main street. Small, but comfortable room, with extremely compact en-suite shower room. Worth having the balcony, which has table and chairs, for some outside space to admire the view from. Staff very helpful. My wife and i stayed at the Hotel Alpenstuben for a few nights during April 2006 and would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for good vsalue for money, good food and very friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble. We certainly hope to return in the near future. It was so nice to be welcomed with such warmth and the staff were all wonderful and professional. The location of this hotel is great for seeing the castles and other attractions in the area. It is right next to the ticket center for the castle tours. Being on the only road to the castles it was kinda noisy during the day, but after the tourists and busses went home it was quite and relaxing. The room was comfy and well decorated but a little small. We got one of the rooms with a view of Neuschwanstein Castle and it was well worth it. My wife and son stayed at the Hotel Alpenstuben for 2 nights in March '05. It was delightful experience. The family owned Hotel was very clean and the staff was awesome...so was the food. They did more than expected to make our visit there wonderful. We would definitely stay there again, when in the area. The castles were neat but the people at Hotel Alpenstuben made our trip.. buryl43@earthlink.net

My husband and I enjoyed our trip to the castles and our stay at the Hotel Alpenstuben was quite pleasurable. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable. The view of the castle was beautiful and I found myself waking up at night just to get a glimpse of it. I recommend this hotel. Enjoy the great breakfast and the fun atmosphere of the town.

My father and I stayed in this hotel 7/7/04 and thoroughly enjoyed it. This hotel is clean with nice facilities and they even gave us an option between 2 rooms. We chose the one with the view of Castle Neushwanstein. Most of staff was friendly save 1 person..however still an excellent hotel! Clean, enjoyable, great location.

My first visit was 3/03. I was enchanted by the area and charmed by the people at Alpenstuben. While not much for crowds, and the little town can quickly become riddled by hoards of people visiting the castles by day...by evening it fell quite peaceful and quiet. There are many places to sneak off to by day, when the crowds get out of hand, but at night, I found this to be a very pleasant place to be nestled between two beautiful castles.
