Hostal Fernando

I slept in a dormitory with other 5 people. The staying was allright, simple room but it was not that clean and there were slamming doors all night long and people talking lound in the corridor, I think the walls are quite thin. At the end of my staying I discovered they had no record of me paying and made some trouble with my credit card. Not very smily reception. Perhaps single rooms are better anyway.

We had a very bad experience with the staff due to a misunderstanding on their part relating to our reservation. The situation deteriorated into an argument that was very unproductive and ended unsatisfactorially. There are many other, better, options in this location. Steer clear of this deteriorating institution.

This hostel is right in the heart of the city, just off La Rambla. It is cheap, but really clean, they supply sheets, pillows and blankets, as well as lockers in the rooms. The reception is 24 hours which is handy, and the staff are generally helpful. The bathrooms were always clean, as well as the showers.There are tonnes of bars and restaurants within walking distance, just beware walking around La Rambla at night, it is a little dodgy for tourists. The hostel was great. They also have a kitchen with a fridge and everything upstairs as well.
