Hotel Central

As travelers to Italy many times – We have just had a wonderful experience staying at the Hotel Central in Sorrento, a family run hotel with warm southern Italian hospitality. The hotel is centrally located, their rooms are spotless and comfortable, the beds are fantastic and their restaurant serves dishes that are a perfect example of Sorrento’s regional cuisine. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it when you’re In Sorrento.

This hotel was part of a tour package and we were not sure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised. The staff was great from the moment we arrived. Many shops close by to satisfy every age group. The room was comfortable, spacious and with a beautiful view over looking the sea. It also has a beautiful rooftop where you can enjoy a cocktail while enjoying the view. We will definitely stay in this hotel again if given the opportunity.

Normally, I don't review hotels. But I have to warn other people... The hotel is about 20 minutes walk to the centre. Turn right and walk straight on. You will reach a square where there are lots of restaurants and shops. It is an okay walk but there are lots of other hotels closer to the centre if you can't be bothered walking. Be warned that you will be woken up about 8am whether you want to or not!!!!!!! For those of you who like to have a late start when they are on holiday then please remember this. We stayed in the Central for a week at the end of August 2005, and have to say the standard was more 3 star than 4 star in c ertain regards. While the staff were very friendly and helpful, the half - board dinner was simply not up to scratch. Main courses were generally overcooked, with a mere suggestion of vegetables (also annihilated).
