The Pension Mayer is located a few minutes uphill from the lake - it was a bit difficult to find, but being tucked away made it peaceful! The hotel looks a bit like a Swiss-style chalet, but in July you don't really get the full effect - no snow!
On arrival, the man on reception was friendly & helpful, & there was a lift to get up to our room. The room was spacious with modern but understated furnishings & decor. There was a TV but no English channels - although some programmes were in English with Slovenian subtitles. Both the bedroom & bathroom were spotlessly clean.
The view from the window was onto the hotel's small garden & dining area, & onto the countryside beyond.
We didn't eat in the hotel's restaurant as we were only there for one night, but went to another restaurant a few minutes' walk away.
The hotel restaurant did seem popular though, with tables outside as the weather was very warm (warm enough to swim in the lake, although the lake itself was cold!).
Breakfast (which could also be eaten outside) was great, with lots of choice including toast, cereals, pastries, meats, cheeses etc.
Although our stay was brief it was very enjoyable & would definitely go back to Bled, as it's absolutely beautiful, and the Pension Mayer was a great place to stay.
I also thought it was great value for money given how nice the room was!
