Stayed 14th-24th June 2009, had a fantastic time, the Ampelia is well maintained, beautifully kept and very tasteful, the owners Poppy and Pandelise were so helpful and friendly. We did not think the walk from the town centre was that steep, not any distance at all. Ampelia is a small family run hotel, situated in a beautiful, quiet location with a panoramic view of the hills and beach, just a pleasant 10 minute walk from Hanioti town. The owners, Pantelis and Poppy, are 'mines of information' about the locale, Greek history and politics, as well as being multi-lingual. They made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. The apartments are located about ten minutes walk from the town centre. It isn't a steep walk but if you are looking for central then you may wish to find different accommodation. The studios are simple and clean, exactly what you'd expecxt for for the price. However, the view is stunning and very peaceful. The pool area is very tasteful and clean. There are plenty of sunbeds and the pool even has a bubble bench. The pool food is basic but good and the owners are very pleasant and helpful.
