Read all the mixed reviews before arriving. I think this helped to avoid the main pitfall, which seems to be generally agreed that the food in the main restaurant is quite naff and evening entertainment pretty dire. So pack Imodium incase, then go find some likeminded people to laugh and pass the evenings away with.
The place itself is pretty grand, probably the largest single hotel our party had visited, so big that we didn't get around all of it.
Do book the a la carte restaurants, go to the very friendly and helpful customer service staff at 10.00 am, and book for the day and the following day in one hit.
Swimming off the end of the pier was brilliant.
Also worthwhile was hiring the scooter and taking a ride on the path between the hotel and the beach 2km one way 6 km the other direction to explore what lies around, I used it for my jogging also.
Do tip occasionally if you are getting good service, all the staff were friendly and attentive, infact the only hostile we met was the taxi driver at the airport who very quickly stowed our bags, but when then asked the cost of the journey said £30 Egyptian, we took our bags back only to replace them 2 minutes later at the reduced rate of £10 Egyptian (probably still paid too much).
Upgraded to a suite for a couple of nights, that was a touch of luxury.
Would we return, definitely.

This was our second visit to the Grand Azure and like last year we had a fantastic time.
We had a wonderful room in Block 5 overlooking the pool; the pool boys looked after us making sure we had our sunbeds and brolly every day.
The grounds and lobby are amazing, and we recommend eating at the other restaurants for a more "going out feel" to your holiday.
As with other reviews the only down side is the evening entertainment, but if like us you just want a flop n drop holiday, this is the place to go, and after a nice meal, a cocktail in the lobby bar finishes off the evening.
All the staff can't do enough for you and this is with or without a tip, but as the service is so good they really do deserve it.

Just got back from a week staying at the LTI Grand Azure. What an impressive hotel, immaculately kept with very impressive grounds.
Be prepared to tip well as this gets you a long way. i.e. If you tip for your sunbed the attendant will find you your beds in the best location possible.
Also in the restaurant the first waiter you tip will look out for you the rest of the week, find you a table and get your drinks for you.
Well worth it as the restaurant gets very busy therefore avoid it between 7 and 8.30 also the service is better in the upstairs restaurant and a lot less hectic.
One word of warning the Russians are the rudest people you can meet and be prepared for them jumping the queues.
Don't expect much from the evening entertainment.
All in all though well worth a visit and we would go back.

We had asked for two rooms together to our surprise we got more than we thought.
We were put in an Arabian suit which was fab! We were in block 5 next to the pool, 50 steps to the beach and restaurants. The staff can’t do enough for you, they do like a tip (remember they do earn a lot and work very hard).
The food was good they are catering for a lot of fussy people! not sure what people want when they say food and service are bad, there is something for everyone. But if you treat the staff the way you would like to be treated, then you will be looked after like a VIP.
The entertainment is the worst I have ever seen! A loud man shouting all the time, they do try with the children but sing everything in Russian the birdie song sounds worse than normal! The kids club is great, the girls are great.
The swimming pools are lovely, a little cold, water slides were a great hit, there’s a great one in the children’s pool.
The free bus to Naama bay is very poor, it drops you off 20 mins outside and you are expected to walk along a very busy road in 37 degree’s, not really what you want.
Overall this hotel is fab.

My husband and I had a fantastic holiday.
We have recommended this hotel to our daughter and her friend; they are going in July and we have booked to go back ourselves later in the year.
The only hitch we experienced was that we had requested an upper level room but was allocated a ground floor. The manager couldn't offer us another room of the same standard anywhere in the hotel so we paid £80 for an upgrade to a junior suite.
Well worth it, the room had a pool view and was very large inside.
The key to good service from the staff in the bars, restaurants and pool areas is to tip well at the beginning of your holiday. £5 on our first night ensured we never saw the bottom of our glasses at the main bar in the reception area.
We tipped the pool attendants and pool bar staff on day one and never had to wait for a sunbed or a drink.
I personally don't like buffet style restaurants so we ate in one of the speciality restaurants each evening. The food was excellent.
Cannot wait to go back!

Firstly let me warn anyone who has booked with On the Beach for this holiday.
We booked 2 x family rooms which is effectively 4 separate bedrooms. This was booked 4 months in advance and a high supplement paid, when we arrived at the hotel we had been allocated 2 x standard twin rooms, this equated to 4 beds for 7 people and the hotel did not even have extra camp beds available for us.
After initially venting my anger at the hotel I was eventually showed the fax sent by On the Beach, which clearly stated we had booked the 2 x twin rooms.
I therefore urge anyone to avoid this company.
Anyway, to the hotel review. For anyone who has not been to Egypt is must be understood that 5 Star Egypt is NOT 5 Star Europe/America and you need to be aware of this.
This hotel has fantastic grounds and pools (kids loved the water slides); the rooms are average as is the food. Better than most in Egypt, especially the snacks as the kids always found plenty to eat.
The biggest complaint we had was the shortage of sun beds, not my idea of a relaxing holiday having to get up at 5.30am to try and get some sun beds for the day.
The other drawback with Egypt (not just this hotel) is the arrogant race known as Russians; these people have manners of animals and could provoke the mildest mannered individual to result to violence.
When my kids are stood in a queue for food or drinks I do not expect some Russian to use their minority as the perfect chance to get to the front.
To summarise, not a bad hotel with reasonable food and great pools but prepare for an early start for a sun bed.

As other comments, first impressions count and the reception area is something else.
We spent many nights there before evening meal having cocktails.
One bad point- booked desert view room only to find there is no desert left as it is being built on.
A view of the building site not very nice so as people left next day we had their rooms and ended up next to main restaurant with small patio area-a vast improvement!
Went all inclusive and food was o k. kids enjoyed filling their plates up! As many drinks as you want from any bar- we just got them when we wanted with no problems.
If you want waiter service then pre book other restaurants. Staff very polite.
The snorkelling off the end of the pier was magnificent( better than boat trip we did to Ras Mohamed national park), but you must go to the end of the pier and swim out to sea and get out to the rope, where the sea bed drops away to reveal coral and fish like you've seen on the tele!

Firstly, upon arrival, you think when you arrive in reception, wow, how beautiful. The setting and grounds are wonderful.
Now, here are the awful: we booked with med hotels.com for our 25th wedding anniversary. My sister booked with Thomson. My sister was advised by Thomson there was building work.
I asked Medhotels to confirm this as wanted to change hotels - they reassured me all the building work was finished and this was a superb hotel. I believed them.
Arrived in the room late Thurs night to a balcony overlooking the building site which is the hotel extension! Could not get moved as hotel fully booked.
3rd Day all our party went down with food poisoning, the main restaurant was shut, due to refurbishment, another thing we had not been advised! The conditions were appalling, no seats, no glasses, dirty tables.
The hotel was fully booked during the Easter period, why refurbish a restaurant and not advise guests, I am so angry with Medhotels and I wanted to change hotels before departure and they reassured me this was a superb hotel and all the building work was complete.
There were not enough sun beds, guest were putting towels on the grass where you got bit by insects.
All I could drink all holiday was tonic water, due to my poorly tummy and every day at the pool bar they ran out of tonic water!
This was the worst holiday we have ever experienced and I would definitely not recommend anyone going to this hotel until much improvement is made. It is certainly not a 5 star.
If you want 5 stars go to the Grand Rotana, our friends were staying there and you just cannot compare.

This was our second visit to the LTI, but this time we took our friends who have never visited Egypt.
This hotel is fantastic and we have recommended it to many people. On entering the foyer the view is jaw dropping.
Staff are very friendly, rooms are large and spotless. The hotel is huge but well spread out and there are loads of pools with plenty of beds. There is a towel service so no need to take beach towels.
There are lots of different places to eat during the day where you can get a whole range of foods including pizza, wraps, salads, barbeque chicken, burgers and chips, or you can visit the main restaurant.
At night there is a great selection of food and a la carte restaurants. The Italian is very good.
Snorkelling is a must, you need to wear beach shoes but these can be bought for £5 on site, but the fish are an amazing sight. There is really no need to go on a boat trip to see the coral and fish, just walk along the jetty and then wade into the water.
The only disappointment to this hotel is possibly the evening entertainment which is in a smokey room, but to sit in the foyer or at one of the bars is relaxing and if there are a few of you, you can provide your own entertainment.
Otherwise take a trip to Naama Bay on the free courtesy bus.
One word of warning, when you arrive in the airport it can be quite confusing and you will be asked if you want visas, unless you are going out of Sharm el sheik then you are not obliged to buy them.
Even if you are planning to take some trips your rep will sort these out so just say "Sinai only" or "no visas" and you will have no problems.
Lots of people bought visas simply because it was not explained to them and they thought that was what you had to do.
As I said at the beginning we took our friends and they were blown away with this hotel so it’s well worth a visit. Also for a 5* hotel the price is very good.

As all other reviews, when you first get to the LTI you will go WOW.
Grounds fantastic, pools outstanding, rooms good and staff very helpful.
Now the bad news, half of the main restaurant is closed for refurbishment, this means that depending on what time you wish to eat, you may have to wait up to half an hour for a table.
The knock on from this is that there is a lot of pressure on the staff to get you in and out, resulting in under cooked food, luke warm food when it should be hot and warm food when it should be cold.
We were all very ill because of this, 8 days out of 14. The doctor had to prescribe antibiotics to clear it up in the end.
If you are looking forward to a nice cocktail to drown your sorrows in then forget it, they are all made with squash rather than juice, just taste like coloured water with alcohol.
The LTI is def not 5* I would give it 4* max and only then because of the pools and layout.
Would got to Egypt again but not to this hotel.

I think this hotel has a cheek rating itself 5*. We requested a sea view or pool view twin room and were first taken to a double room that had not enough space to swing a cat in.
We then got taken to a twin room that was more over looked than a new Barrats home estate & nowhere near the sea.
There was building work going on that we were not informed about; this was going on directly outside our room so woke us up every morning without fail.
After being there for two days myself & my friend were then ill by the awful buffet food. We were both so ill that we missed 2 days of our holiday.
I have been to Egypt twice previously & never have I been ill, the buffet is the worst that I have ever seen & the building work that was going on above us was so load that we couldn't hear each other speak.
It was quite apparent by the state of every toilet in the hotel that the food was not agreeing with most the people there. Apart from that, the swimming pool & the grounds were very nice.
The staff were not helpful, some even quite rude & waiter service? Not once were we offered coffee or drinks at the bar.
My suggestion to anyone wanting to go to Egypt on holiday... pay a bit more & you will get a bit more... not at the ITL though. Never again.

This hotel is awesome! The decor and furniture really is great. The staff always are willing to help and the waiters (with a tip) will certainly look after you.
The room isn't quite what you would expect for a 5*, however, don't let that put you off. The rooms are fine and there is a mini-fridge there (unstocked) for your use and an electric safe, kettle and decent bathroom and balcony.
The pools are fabulous, you would think you were in a 10* hotel, much thought has gone in to them, including the pool bars.
The food is fabulous, buffet style in the main restaurant will such a fantastic selection (especially the deserts - usually around 30 per night) with most things on offer - we were there for a week and they never had chips once!
The other 'in-house' restaurants to eat - such as Italian and Chinese were fantastic quality - although not the biggest portions - still very nice. If anyone claims that the main restaurant had nothing they liked, they must be the fussiest person in the world!
The hotel has its own stretch of beach and a jetty/pier that goes right out to the reef for snorkelling - well worth the experience.
All in all fabulous - we are going back for 2 weeks again the 2nd half of September. See you there!
