Angel Cave Houses

We are just back from this newer property in Oia and overall we enjoyed our stay immensely. Being a new property, I felt the only drawbacks were in slight details that if tended to would have really made this experience a perfect 10. We stayed at Angel Cave Houses by mid June and like most travelers that found their website and no reviews on TA, were a bit worried about what we would find there. But after exchanging e-mails with Halari Maria, the owner, we felt sure about our choice and knew it would all be fine. When we got there we were just astonished at the gorgeous view, since the hotel is perched right on the cliff with nothing between the property and the fantastic view of the volcano and caldera. We had always wanted to visit Santorini and this was the year we finally decided to do it. Having become addicted to Trip Advisor I scoured it intensely for a suitable place to stay. We drew up a short list but couldn't decide, then I happened upon Angel Cave Houses but not reviewed by TA. A problem, should I take a chance with an unreviewed property or play it safe. Angel Cave Houses is a lovely hotel with an amazing view of the caldera and sea. The owners are a family who live downstairs from the hotel. They are very friendly and willing to help with anything you may need. Our room was spotlessly clean, and they added many nice personal touches such as a bouquet of roses,wine, and embroidered sheets, since they knew we were celebrating our anniversary. We had a wonderful 4 night stay in the Superior suite (their largest room) and had a great time. The room was beautiful and huge with more than enough room for the four of us- both the kids had twin beds in the main room which also has a kitchen and a large sitting/dining area. My wife and I had a separate cave room with a large bed and complete privacy ( individual a/c's in the bedroom and in the large room). This is a new place in Oia and I found it on the Santorini Forum. We took a chance and booked it without reading any real reviews. It turned out to be an excellent choice for a family of 4 (we have 2 children). The room is more like an apartment. There was a bedroom with a big bed in a separate room and 2 single beds for our children in the huge living room. The living room also have a kitchen and a dining table. We arrived and were warmly welcomed. by Delfini Rena. We were moved to Angel Cave accomodation (I think it was because a wedding party had taken several rooms). However, it was an updgrade for us and it was divine. The jacuzzi on our own verandah looking out to sea and views of the caldera, were so relazing. Pure paradise. The self catering one bed apartment was spotless and beautifully presented.
