Orient Resort Hotel

We arrived at the hotel at about 5.30am. Walking into the lobby we thought oh this is nice, but then we had to deal with the staff on check in. I know it was early in the morning but a nice greeting would have been nice. We got our keys and off we went, avoid the lift!! The floor numbers in the lift do not match the actual floors, we were on the 4th floor, pressed 4 on the lift and it took us the the roof. I cannot urge you enough to stay away from this hotel and to try and avoid booking with 'Bookable Holidays'. When you go away to a 5* abroad you expect about a 4* or maybe 3* this definitely wasnt either, i'd rate it as a 2* and the whole experience as 1*. We arrived at the Orient Aries Hotel on Monday 13th July...It looked ok, but the bloke that checked us in, didn't really give us much info about the hotel and as we were in Room 4123 we headed up to the 4th floor...4 girls, 4 cases, 4th floor...we ended up on the roof terrace couldn't find our room so headed back down to the 3rd floor...voila - there it was our home for the week. My husband and I stayed at the Orient Aries Hotel in Calis Beach for two weeks. Oh my god what a disaster, it was a cross between Fawlty Towers and The Shinning. The staff were so unprofessional, rude as well as lazy ie. tables left dirty while the waiters stood around doing nothing. We were told it was a 5* star hotel but the only stars we could see were the ones the sky. One bar man told us to come back in 5mins while he finished his cigarette. I know that people do not always write reviews when they experience a fantastic holiday and some may submit reviews just to have a moan, but this hotel has been was the worst I that i have experienced. The discription of the hotel that you will find on bookable holidays or cosmos is incorrect and people are mis sold their holiday. Just arrived back yesterday and the Orient Aries is possibly trhe worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I will start with the plus points. The entertainment staff were great, thats it!! The hotel is no more than a basic 2 star with awful food. They constantly run out of drinks, had brussell sprouts and chips for breakfast, burgers and chips for lunch, and recycled food in the evening. We have just returned from a weeks holiday at the orient hotel - The website it has is totally fabricated and a whole liabilty with regards to trading standards advertisement !! From start to finish this hotel was a complete sham !! Firstly the staff apart from the manager were excellent and did there best in a poorly managed and resourced hotel. The animation team threatened to leave because of the terrible way in which the manager treated them. The beer was watered down, the soft drinks ran out constantly and there were plently of people complaining including the Turkish. Just returned from a week’s holiday at the orient resort. The rooms are clean and tidy, however if there is more then two people in a standard room it would be a squeeze. The pool area is lovely. We could always get a sun bed. The animation team offer activities during the daytime and whilst the music round the pool area is loud you do get used to it or you can move to the other pool where the water slides are. As the other review says we could not find this hotel on trip advisor so we went with an open mind. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. It is a beautiful hotel with lovely friendly staff. Everywhere was very clean. There are two lovely pools one with water slides which was a great source of amusement to the children and adults. When we booked this hotel we were confused about the actual name of the place. We weren't sure whether it was the Orient Aries hotel or the Aries Hotel. The reason for this is that we think the ownership has changed. Locally it is known as the Aries but the actual name is the Orient Resort. Even when you turn up there is no clear sign of the name.
