Great hotel in a great location
from peque_vane
Great hotel in a great location. Everything new (just a month since its opening), extremely clean, and comfortable. It´s possible to have breakfast on the terrace which has a panoramic view over the Sea of Marmara to the Anatolian side. So be prepared to take an hour to have a quiet and relaxing breakfast under the sun. Everything perfect and the staff is charming and ready to help you. Just two minutes walking to Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque, and in a great area full of restaurants and bazaars.
Clean and modern, good location and value
from whereisdave
Right around the corner from Sultanahmet tourist sites and the limited nightlife that the area has. One of the best rooms I stayed in on my Turkey tour. Good price as well. Great bathroom, TV, free wireless. However I was originaly booked at the regular Grand Peninsula and was sent here when they couldn't find my reservation, but staff was helpful. Given spacious room on the top floor with a balcony. There is construction right outside the hotel as others have stated, and it does not have a lift.
Comfortable stay in Istanbul

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Grand Peninsula. It was clean and not too expensive (who knew hotels in Turkey were so pricey?) compared to other hotels in the area. The breakfast was good and the hotel staff was very friendly. Rooms were tiny- similar to NY but it wasn't that big of a problem for a few nights. They also have free wifi which was great except when the hotel staff was downloading movies which made the connection really slow. Overall, I'd easily rec'd this to anyone looking for a place in Turkey.
Very comfortable

This is a new place, very comfortable, though the room and bathroom were a bit cramped. A safe was provided in the room. The bathroom did have a smell that refused to go away. Breakfast spread was the best I had in Turkey. Staff were on the whole helpful, though some struggled with English and appeared less than friendly. Location is within the old historic quarters but way down to the south, so it's quite a climb up to the attractions.
Small, fresh and friendly in good location, great breakfast and free internet
from zebrakiwi
We had 4 days here when it had just opened, so all the rooms were brand new, and they were still shaking down the systems, getting internet working, etc. My wife had booked through Internet, and we got the top room with the view of Marmara sea, next to the roof-top breakfast bar. Breakfast was great, beautiful fresh bread, salad , eggs, juices, fruit, yoghurt, etc, with a grand view of the shipping coming up the Marmara entering the Bosphorus. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, especially Daniel the newly married Australian. It is...

Great stay except for nearby construction
from jcurrysf
A terrific hotel with great service and nice rooms in a perfect location for taking in Istanbul´s main sights. Unfortunately there are two construction projects going on next door to the hotel, so you might get woken up by jackhammering at 8am . . . maybe ask the hotel about the construction schedule before you book. There´s also a hostel next door which plays somewhat loud music most nights until midnight or later, but it didn´t bother us much. And lastly, we booked a total of 4 airport transfers through the hotel, 2 of which went...

Very good option in Sultanahmet
from berurier
My girlfriend and I passed five nights here, there are only positive points : - Location : just perfect. Minutes walk to Blue Mosk or Hagia Sofia, in a little silent no-way street (a little bit difficult to find as it is not even on a detailed plan of Istanbul). In this place, you hear absolute silent at night, which is rare in istanbul. - Rooms : nice, clean, discrecly decorated, bed very good. - Staff : you may see depending the hour three different guys, all very kind and speaking english (one of them is an australian )...

Great experience!
from Raquel82
I have stayed in the Grand Pensinsula only for one night but that was enough to be sure that it is a remarkable hotel. It was very clean, the rooms are extremely nice and the staff is very friendly and helpfull. Breakfast terrace is very beautiful with the view of the Bosforos and the location of the hotel is very very good (it is very close to the Blue Mosque and Haghia Sofia) and the prices are also considerably cheap for the experience of the hotel (clean, great location, friendly staff). If/When I go back to Istanbul I would stay in this...

Great NEW Hotel-Wonderful!!!!
from LovinNlivingLife
We'd stay again at Grand Peninsula in a heartbeat. We found the hospitality to be the finest we've experienced in Istanbul. While the location, near the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and the Aya Sofia, is PERFECT walking distance. Because they are situated on a small quiet back street in the heart of Sultanahmet, guest rooms are peaceful and restful. The hotel is brand new, so you get the luxury of a new shiny room and bathroom, and cozy new linens. There is a lovely turkish breakfast served on the rooftop. Best of all is Huseyin, the...

Chic and Shining
from silversquiggle
Our five nights at the Grand Peninsula Hotel in this secluded side-street in Sultanahmet’s southern quarter, were a pleasure. My wife and I came away fresh n fab from our stay at this newly opened establishment. We were referred to the Grand Peninsula Hotel after trying to book our stay at its ‘sister,’ the Peninsula Hotel. We stayed at the Peninsula before, and had a good stay - so were confident in accepting the owners referral. As the name dictates, this one is somewhat more ‘grand’ (see stylish reception) but still remains...
