good value hotel
We paid £26 a night for this hotel although could have got it cheaper if we had been more flexible with our dates. For the money we paid it was really good value. Within walking distance of the town. Our room was really clean and had all we needed for a short stay and the bed was really comfortable. Take your own hairdryer as Travelodge only loan them out from reception which is a pain. Ask for extra pillows from reception. The only negative we had was that the entrance smells of stale smoke as the smoking area is right outside the main... more
Good location and close to amenities
We stayed at this Travelodge for a weekend break. A brisk ten minute walk from the centre of Stratford and conveniently situated across the road from a 24 hour Tesco. There is also a large shopping complex nearby with a Pizza restaurant, coffee shop and a M&S Simply Food. The hotel is relatively new and the staff very helpful and friendly. Plenty of parking available. Would definitely recommend.
Great value for the price we paid
We stayed on Sat 25th April for a 2 night stay and got a fab rate of £69 total for the 2 nights. We booked a double room and found it very clean. The entrance of the hotel is round the back where the car park is situated, we didn't find this to be a problem. A lot easier this way, as not far to take luggage from the car. The hotel has it's own bar next to the reception where they can also serve food. They did offer an all you can eat breakfast for around £7 per person. Didn't take advantage of any meals at the hotel so can't comment... more
Brand new travel lodge
Brand new travel lodge. Was good value. 15mins walk to town centre. Clean and comfortable. Opposite a tesco supermarket. room was large in size.
Value for money if you get it for £30..ish....
Facilities... Probably one of the most basic travelodges I have stayed in. Similar to the Formula 1 chain of hotels. No heater in the tiny bathroom so was cold and nowhere to dry the towels. Plastic beakers rather than glasses. Bed not made nor changed. No wardrobe or drawers, just a clothes rail sticking out with 6 hangers attached and a shelf above. It had only been open a few weeks when we stayed so was in good condition. But clean and ideally situated just 5/10 minute walk from Shakespeare's house.<br... more
Excellent value
Hotel was claean and bright. Entrance at back was bit strange, but plenty of free parking. Had family room, was adequate , bathroom was fine, clean and bright. not much hanging space for family of 4 and no other storage in the room. Tv was fine with about 5 channels. Tea and coffee sachets and small kettle, can ask for more at reception if needed, but we bought fresh milk at tescos just across road and kept it cold on the windowsill. Double bed, larger than average and was comfy. Kids bed was sofa bed- full size so would easily sleep... more
Valentines Weekend
Stayed here for two nights. Hotel only open for 8-9 weeks so everything was brand new, which was nice. Staff very helpfull, arrived before meals were being served and the manager said she would cook us something. Many thanks. Rooms are spacious but some space was wasted. One side of the double bed was 12 inches away from the wall - why? when the other side was some 6 foot away. We had a double room but there was only one chair in the room. As for the bathroom who was it designed for? If you could get a cat in you could not swing it... more
Gerat travelodge
Brand new travelodge. Bar and restaurant area, bright and modern. Only downside was lack of toilet facilties downstairs (yes, there is a toilet in your room, but do you really want to trek up from the bar?) Great location - we liked the walkable distance to the centre, just 5 minutes away. The four members of staff we encountered were extremely friendly and polite. £9 a night for new year. Another bargain and we have booked to return for a night in August. First time in Stratford, and a new favourite place. Free... more
The new age of Travelodge hotels
A group of us stayed at the hotel on the 31st December to celebrate the new year in Stratford. We felt that the hotel was well presented, stylish and modern and the staff were very polite and friendly. The rooms were a very large size and of a stylish decor, although the bathroom was very cramped and more thought should have gone into where the door is positioned in relation to the toilet. Breakfast was nice with a good selection of both hot and cold foods. This hotel is situated very close to the centre of Stratford and... more
Adequate
Stayed for one night to break up journey back to the North West from Cornwall, plus chance to visit Stratford Upon Avon. Check-in was fine, the room was large, new and clean. Bathroom and shower were great. Tea/coffee making facilities were welcomed, TV was an adequately sized flat panel, could have done with being a little lower on the wall for more comfortable viewing. Dinner in the cafe was mediocre although my wife enjoyed her choice i couldn't eat my starter, the dough balls were rock hard. I ordered a pizza from the menu,... more
Does what it says on the tin
We're regular visitors to Stratford Upon Avon and have grown to lilke the town and surrounding area very much. This weekend was "Bring a student home for Christmas" weekend - rather than drive to nearby Birmingham and back in a single day we decided (rather last minute) to travel on the Saturday - enjoy a meal out in Stratford and collect my partner's offspring the following day. Travelodge was easy to spot exiting Stratford on Birmingham Road - big well lit three storey building - opposite a retail park - ample car parking at the... more
