The Vagabond

We found the Vagabond to be well priced, warm, clean, comfortable, friendly etc. My group of three was all male and we got a clear explanation that if the shower door was closed, it was occupied by female(s) and so off limits. So no confusion there (and I therefore don't understand a previous reviewer's comment). We paid an extra few pounds for breakfast which was good value. Perfect place to kip before/after enjoying the surrounding countryside.

Stayed at the Vagabond for 2 nights in early June 09. Group of 6 lads on a walking expedition up Snowdon. Ideally located, roughly 15 mins drive from Pen-y-Pass. Accomodation was basic (3 bunk beds), but for £19 a night including breakfast was ideal. Contrary to previous review, alcohol is served at the bar, although bar did shut at approx 10:30pm. Stayed with large group of women. Found the showers and toilets inadequate to serve 36 people. Only 4 showers for everyone - men and women mixed. System to shut door when women in and leave open if men in - system did not work the men still came in to shower when women were showering causing some embarassment as you have to come out of shower to retrieve your towels etc. Bar looked impressive but could'nt serve alcohol as no licence. I stayed at the vagabond on a very wet September weekend. The rooms are basic but clean, and the vagabond has good facilities such as hot showers and wet room. Best of all the vagabond has a decent bar and a great host in eric. This place is exactly what you want in a bunkhouse, clean , friendly, cheap , very relaxed and a host with good taste in music.

We stayed at the Vagabond for a weekend as part of a walking trip. The rooms were clean, well laid out and the breakfast was great! The hotel has its own bar and the owners are very friendly and helpful. Great location too!
