Bideford Bay Holiday Park - Park Resorts

Booked via National newspaper £9.50 offer - ended up costing over £100 for the 3 nights. Upgraded to a silver chalet which did come with a very good view as the site is about 150-200 foot above sea level but was very damp. The mouldy smell never did go away even after a few days of heating and airing. Unable to climb down to beach as path to wet and muddy. To be fair we did have very heavy rain while there. Another `cheapie` £9.50, (which actually ended up costing £84), booked through a tabloid newspaper. Our first experience of this type of break, but the credit crunch hits hard, and we though we`d just use it as a base. First impressions of the 4pm check in was, what a bun fight! A very out dated method of checking everyone in at the same time, not even computerised. Got back from Bideford bay yesterday after a 3 night stay there. I must say after reading the reviews on different websites, I was VERY worried! CHECK IN We checked in at the reception on the friday afternoon. We were greeted by a very helpful staff member explaining all about the complex and then giving us the key to our accomodation and explaining where about on the park it was situated. My wife&I stayed in bideford bay resort,back in april we had a nightmare time.We stayed in a so called silver rated chalet which was something out ww2 seaview no44,smelt damp and very basic furnature which was dirty ciggy burns on carpet heating did't work.we complained then got chalet no 43 this was just as discusting we were watching tv about 10.00pm and something caught our eyes coming from the kitchen mice, my wife nearly had a heart attack.we had to go to bed but did not sleep.we complained again.this time the( lady) at reception told... more

we stayed at bideford bay holiday park for a week september 2007 in a silver chalet. the chalet was dirty with mouldy floor in kitchen and mouldy shower and bathroom floor. There was also a jumper left by previous occupants hanging on bedroom door (surprised the cleaners didnt find it?) sofa was ripped and there was no radio (as stated in brochure). I spent a long time scrubbing the minute we got in there! The price for this holiday was cheap and i guess it is a case of you get what you pay for!! one positive...my 5 year old... more
