Highly Recommended
We would highly recommend a stay at this lovely B&B. Our hosts offered us a really warm welcome - the breakfast was delicious with locally sourced produce and home made bread that was difficult to resist! Our room was lovely with a huge bed - although the house was very old the décor was really stylish and quite modern.
A very special place
We originally just wanted to stay for one night, but couldnn't leave this lovely place and stayed longer. A wonderful house situated in a lovely area with great rooms make your stay a relaxing holiday. But what makes this place really special are the great hosts who are friendly, helpful and happy to share their great knowledge of the area to help you find the wonderful and special places in North Wales. This is an excellent and very extraordinary place! Stuttgart, Germany
Half term in the snow
Tucked away in the countryside surrounding Ruthin, this B&B offers fantastic views and peaceful refuge. The friendly reception continued throughout our stay and we felt at home. The breakfast was excellent and the fishcakes provided a nice thoughtful alternative to the bacon & eggs convention. The hens provide the eggs too! There is a computer to use which is a nice touch too, and you are only ten minutes from a number of decent pubs and restaurants in Ruthin.
"A real Gem"
Having just returned from a weekend break in Rithin with our family, we felt that our stay at Efenechtydd was the icing on the cake. It was excellent value at £55 for double room and breakfast, in this lovely, characterful cottage. Our hosts Dave and Marilyn were friendly, welcoming and helpful, with detailed knowledge of the area. We had come for the Medieval Banquet at Ruthin Castle (our third visit). The twin room was in fact two single beds joined to make a super king-sized- luxury! The cooked breakfasts were excellent with... more
Excellent, friendly B&B
We stayed here for a B&B in nearby Ruthin, which is about £5 by taxi (book in advance). The B&B itself is great, everything we could wish for. Breakfast was great, with fresh eggs and homemade bread, jam and fishcakes (which were all excellent). Marilyn and Dave were friendly and very helpful, advising us on which taxis to use and which tea shop was best. They were also very tolerant in waiting up for our rather late arrival on Friday night. All on all, we would thoroughly recommend a stay here :-) Matt & Nickey
Lovely and quaint
3 of us stayed in this B & B using two of the three en suite rooms. The cottage is in a quiet spot about 2 miles from the lovely town of Ruthin, Wales. The Cottage, and all the bedrooms are very comfortable, with up-to-date decoration, and smart bathrooms, which must have the thickest, largest towels we've seen in a long time. The Cottage itself has character, including some quirky floors - not quite level -what one should expect of an old cottage. Set in gardens that also boast chickens and ducks, there are great views around it.<br... more
North Wales tranquility
We knew we were heading for a quiet spot in the north Welsh countryside but didn't realise just how lovely it would be. The cottage is only a very short car ride away from Ruthin but felt very removed from supermarkets, car parks and traffic. Nevertheless we found it very easily, having been given excellent instructions by our hosts, Dave and Marilyn. Although it may not be in the main tourist areas of Wales, there is plenty to visit nearby and the scenery is still spectacular. Plas Efenechtyd is a delightful old cottage but is fully... more
Book here!
We stayed at this bed and breakfast and thoroughly recommend that you try it if staying in the area. The owners are very friendly and helpful and the surroundings are superb! Our room was extremely clean and had some really nice touches...homemade biscuits with your tea and coffee was a nice surprise after our journey! There was plenty of choice at breakfast....fruit juice, cereal, homemade bread to toast (very nice) homemade marmalade too, plus a traditional cooked breakfast or fishcakes as an alternative, plus tea and coffee.<br... more
Excellent B&B at Plas Efenechtyd
We spent two nights at the Plas Efenechtyd B&B in April 2008, having previously stayed there in March 2008. On both occasions we found the accommodation to be excellent. The surrounding countryside is lovely and the situation very quiet and peaceful. The cottage is well placed for exploring North Wales, but is also less than an hour's drive from Chester. The rooms are well appointed, spotlessly clean, with comfortable beds and high quality linen. Breakfast includes a choice of cereal, orange juice or fresh fruit, followed by either... more
