Great place, but company will rip you off if your not careful!!!!!
We stayed in June this year and booked the trip with the company directly. We used a debit card to do this and the management kept a note of the card details (unbeknown to us). We had a great weekend as we had booked out 2 lodges as there were so many of us. We mostly gathered in 1 lodge which meant it was being utilised heavier than the other. On our final day, before leaving, 3 of my sisters, my mother (who was a profesional cleaner in an NHS hospital operating theatre) cleaned out the lodges. The cookers through to every... more
Management response from H0lidaymakerKillin

We take our obligation to provide clean comfortable lodges for arriving guests very seriously. Very rarely, 3 times out of 500 plus lets in 2009 (which is much less than 1% of cases), a lodge is left in an unacceptable state which needs grossly excessive cleaning. To ensure that this doe not happen often and so compromise our ability to provide clean lodges,we take an authorisation , at booking, from all guests for a £100 deposit from their card used for payment. This is not used in the event of there being no problems. It is our experience that most self catering operators require that a deposit is provided. For this guest, one lodge was left in good condition and the other required 6 hours of cleaning. So,for the second time for 2009 lets and with some reluctance as the group had been very pleasant during their stay, we used the deposit which the guest had pre authorised at booking to charge an excess cleaning fee and for broken or missing equipment. We telephoned the customer, remaining polite at all times, to advise them of this and sent them a detailed receipt Credit and debit card issuers are very protective of their clients accounts and will not allow any unauthorised use of their customers' cards.

A little bit of paradise in the Scvottish Highlands
We stayed in one of the beautiful log cabins in this area - Killin Highland lodges are based at the far end of the lovely village of Killin. The lodges are of a very high standard - very well equipped with plenty of warm bedding and a very efficientheating and hot water system. The location is perfect for exploring the southern highlands (up through glen coe to Fort william) plus the trossachs and loch lomond national park. The views are astounding from the cabins, surrounded on all sides by mountains and loch tay. The owners of the... more
