never ever stay there again
We arrived at the Wallace Hotel and immediately got a lecture from the hotel owner Agnes. There was no 'did you have a nice journey' etc, it was straight in with how much damage had been caused in the past and that we couldn’t eat/drink in our room. We were told to pay an extra £20 bond each over and above what we had paid for our room; this was not mentioned prior to our arrival. We would only get our £20 back if our room was deemed to be in the correct condition upon leaving. We were all also told to leave any alcohol we had brought... more

as we are the owner ,we strongly disagree with this reveiw !! when you all arrived you were not given a lecture ,, you were all told what the keys were , when breakfast was , where the dinning room was ,,all our guests find this very helpful !!all group booking are asked to pay a bond this is sent with all group confirmation, it is either money ie;- £20 or credit card details (we do not no of any hotels in blackpool that don`t take a bond from group bookings) , we consider the hotel to be a high standard so we do not allow guests to take food or drink to there room, its our hotel and we standards and rules , this is our home as well as a business !! a en-suite was not requested at the time of booking which was disgussed with you on the telephone and was again on your confirmation which was sent to you well in advance of your stay . i offered you a en-suite when you came down and said to us but you refused as it meant you would be on differant floors ..our hotel was busy that weekend and guests were all ready settled in there rooms so i couldn`t do more than that ,, as you said about the shared toilets are showers i am really fussy with them , i am always checking them and cleaning them !! to make sure they are spotless for all guests that need to use them, they have been fully refurbished to a very high standard and are very modern, all our guests enjoy drinking/relaxing in our bar and also enjoy sitting in our popular sun-lounge watching the world go by !! or they go out and enjoy themselves in blackpool , we were not informed that none of you were not coming down for breakfast on either of the mornings such a waste of food and effort considering there are people out there starving !!!! on the morning of your departure, you rang the bell and asked david for your bond money and drink back but he couldn`t give you it as i hadn`t checked the room thats how a bond works !! he would never have told you he was at his breakfast on check out days we lucky if we eat before 2pm as we so busy clearing dinning room and checking people out ,, i took your keys and when i went to check your room i noticed that another guest was struggling with her luggage and a small child , so i immediately stopped to help her which she appreciated so much ,,so im sorry i may have took a bit longer than normal,, we have had numerous groups who have stayed with us and have retuned time and time again whether it be with there friends or family !!

never stay there again
the hotel was clean and looked nice, didnt get on suite that we asked 4,the owners were very unfriendly&we did not feel welcome there at all!
Management response from ashe2007

i reguard this review un true to the hotel, en-suite was not requested on booking. you are the first people that said we were unfriendly during there stay and not made to feel welcome at the wallace hotel. we treat all our guests equally to ensure our guests enjoy there stay at the wallace hotel and in blackpool. however turning up at the hotel very in-toxicated and lauging in owners face is however very childish. bringing bags full of alcohol to fully licenced hotel, after advised this is not appropriate, they behaved in an in-appropriate manner.

I wouldn't go back......
Upon arrival, before getting the key's the group of us were given a lecture by the owner, Agnes, and told to each pay a £20 bond, which was not mentioned prior to our arrival. We were then told that all our rooms would be checked prior to us leaving to get the £20 back. It was like being at primary school with some nutty headmistress. The rooms were adequate, some didn't have a bathroom, and even though ours did i would use the term bathroom in the remotest sense of the word. At breakfast the following morning Agnes was going... more

on reply to your review un- true to the hotel, upon arrival every guest to the wallace hotel is treated in the same way, all guests are not given a lecture they are just told the appropraite rules & regulations of the hotel. All bookings for the hotel are sent confirmation which states that it is a £20 bond per person on arrival this is to ensure that the hotel runs smoothly and to allow other guests to enjoy there stay without disruption and to cover any damage to the premises, it is explained that the bond is also fully re-fundable on departure. All rooms are adequate enough for guests to be able to enjoy during their stay it is not bathrooms that we have its a shower room with a toilet which is more than adequete. breakfast is served between 9am and 9.30am, the reason for this is to ensure that all guests has enough time to enjoy there breakfast & put all there belongings together for departure time at 10.30am to get the rooms cleaned and tided for next arrivals at 2pm. on reguards to the comment on liablity insurance i was just replyn to a jokingly comment from another guest. it was a 54 yr old woman with group of young girls, this is why a bond was taken, to treat all guests equally and it was not personal to this particular groupbooking.

Blackpools Scottish Gem
We decided to upsticks at 2pm from Glasgow on Saturday 27 June and head for Blackpool, first place we called was the Wallace hotel. Great info on phone, one room left and they kept it for us. On arrival we noticed it was our counterparts (Scots) that own and run the hotel. Very friendly, place is spotless and that is rare in Blackpool. Couple are quite strict with some of the younger ones but you cant fault them on that when you se the place. Bar is ok for starters and a nightcap, brekkie also very good. Hotel pets, charlie and... more

you were a fantastic HEN PARTY to have in our hotel . with it being a large group booking i was unsure whether to accept the booking,, but glad i did you were all a pleasure to have you stuck to the few rules we have , kept the noise down when you came in late (respecting other guests were tucked up in bed) paid the bond with no moans etc:- which was fully refunded next morning when the rooms were checked and as i new they were more than perfect condition groups like all you all are always a pleasure to have , glad you have booked to come back see you soon
