People should be aware of just how awful and extremely poor value these hotels are! Although you pay £35 p.night initially, you cannot stay without spending a lot more! There are no tea making facilities in your room, and drinks from their machine cost £1.20 each. Car parking is charged at £2 p.n. and breakfast is £3 p.person so compared to a Travel Lodge or similar, Eatap is no cheaper, but far, far worse, in fact, horrendous! We arrived at Etap hotel drunk, as you may well be after a night out in cardiff, When I saw the room i was pleasantly suprised how " ikea looking " everything was. As first we couldn't find the toilet but when we did it was full of [-] stains... so off I go to the reception to demand it be cleaned and they changed our room for us.. no problem at all. Just stop complaining - this is a new hotel in CARDIFF and great for the price - yes just £35 with a fair breakfast. Room small, toilet small, ..price small...so what. The 3 beds - meant £12 each with food - come on you English tourists and big event attenders - I know tent sites that charge more. Stayed for a couple of days. Rooms clean, quiet Parking was fine @ £3 a day no problem Not in the best part of town so see some interesting "wildlife" outside the hotel but not threatening. Wifi only in the lobby. Would recomend at only £35 a night

Stayed here for only 1 night but it will be my first choice when booking my next trip to Cardiff. The room had a double bed with a bunk bed on top. Also, en-suite facilities and a tv. Rooms were quite small & basic but for £35 it was very good value for money. The reception served snacks 24 hours a day as well. Good hotel within 10 minute walk of the main shopping street and bars.

When I booked my room for £35 for a Saturday night I was not expecting much at all. However, I was pleasantly surprised - its a new hotel with friendly staff and everywhere is extremely clean. Yes, the rooms are tiny but if you are used to student halls of residence you won't get too claustraphobic! The room has everything you need and could take up to 2 adults and a child. Stayed here for three nights, over the bank holiday weekend, The staff were very friendly and efficient and the rooms were spotlessly clean, it might not be a posh hotel for some people but for value for money and cleanliness it was second to none, the continental breakfast was fine aswell eat as much as you like. definitly stop there again.

This isn't exactly in the most salubrious area of Cardiff - at night, you'll be able to look out of your window and watch prostitutes soliciting for business on the other side of the road. But, as cheap hotels go, Etap Hotel is perfectly adequate. The standard room rate is £35 per night (which rises to £60 when there's an event at the Millennium Stadium). For their offer of £35.00 per night, the accommodation you get is very basic but is clean and adequate for a 1-night stay. We stayed here in a double room for 1 overnight and got a double bed with a bunk-bed overhead, a toilet, a shower cubicle and a sink in the bedroom. First thing to remember is the hotel is £35/night, which is £20 cheaper than the Travelodge etc. Breakfast is 2.99 extra and is basic continental style but fine. They didn't bother charging me when I decided to eat in the morning, so you can probably get the breakfast free if you want! Parking in the hotel car park is £3. We've stayed here twice now, once last year and again in May 2008. It's great value for money (£35 a night), with a secure car park on-site (although they've now started charging £3 per 24 hours - it was free the first time we went). It's only 10 minutes from the centre of Cardiff and pretty close to The Bay, so you've got everything on your doorstep.
