L'Eree Bay Hotel

We stayed at this hotel for a four night break and were generally very satisfied, although the service could have been better. When we arrived, straight from the ferry at 7.50pm, we were given an information sheet which stated that evening meals for half board residents were served in the brasserie until 8pm, so we went down straightaway, only to be told that meals were actually served in the room opposite, which turned out to be the breakfast room. We booked this "extra" holiday at short notice and wanted value for money. We had heard on the grapevine that this one had been under new management and had been refurbished. When we arrived we found a pleasant surprise, it was even better than we expected. Please ignore any older reviews, the place will have changed substantially. The welcome was extremely warm. We have just come back from a stay at this Hotel, having been booked in as part of a group. Naturally, I checked what Trip Advisor had to say and decided to go with an open mind, having read the two previous reviews, which to be fair, are not recent. The Hotel was undergoing some maintenance work whilst we were there, but it did not interfere with our stay in any way. I thought this hotel was sad and tired and all I can say to recommend it was that it was cheap and it had a nice sea view. The room had a stale odour, the carpet was stained and the breakfast room was almost underground and was dark and dingy.
