St Francis Resort

We spent Thanksgiving week at St. Francis Resort, and loved every minute! We have visited some amazing places, and St. Francis certainly tops the list. Every photo taken during our vacation is postcard perfect. The resort, Stocking Island, and the beaches really are as beautiful as photos you see in tourist books. The owners: St. Francis is owned by a wonderful family who live on-site. George, Jill, and their son, Greg, are great hosts. My wife and I spend our belated honeymoon over Valentine's day 2009 at the St. Francis. We wanted to be somewhere non-commercialized, but not completely cut off, and the St. Francis fit the bill perfectly. Upon arriving, Greg picked us up and we took the short boat ride to the resort. My husband and I stayed at St. Francis for our three-year belated honeymoon. Those seven days were pure heaven. From the airport, it took about 10-15 minutes via taxi to a dock where the owners' son picked us up from Exuma and took us to the resort. The resort is actually located on Stocking Isand and spans the width of the small cay. George and Jill were expecting us and we were led immediately to our room. Just returned from a wonderful 4 nights stay at St Francis. WOW! A beautiful place. The Taxi driver radioed ahead to St Francis that we were on our way and Jill was there waiting for us at the Market dingy dock. A 5 -10 minute boat ride and we were at St Francis. When we entered the room the view took our breath away. Truly spectacular. You have the perfect view of Miles of wonderful beach right from the room. Traci and I stayed at the St Francis this last fall. I have traveled all over the Caribbean and I have finally found a place that I would return to year after year. The accomadations are simple but wonderful. The rooms are perfect and have everything you will need for your vacation. The owners are the nicest people and will accomadate you as much as they are able. The food is excellent and the grounds are fantastic. They bring a wonderful breakfast each morning to start you off right and the day just gets better and better from there.... more

From the moment we arrived it 'just seemed right'. George and Jill were incredibly friendly and accommodating throughout our entire week we were there. The rooms were built on a small hill about a year ago so they are clean and well kept. The views off the balcony look out into the ocean where you can see the sunrise every morning, should you chose to be up. What great hospitality. Nice people who make every day a joy. We herd about the place while staying at a larger hotel in George Town and checked them out. The rooms are beautifull and all have great ocean views with A/c. We have already reserved our return for later this year. They have only just opened and we wish them the very best. Tom and Betty
