Do Not Stay Here! We arrived at 12 noon on the day of our stay, to be told we could not check in until 2pm, which was fine but did not give us an opportunity to view the room. However the impression we got when we went into reception and the adjoining bar and toilets was extremely offputting to say the least! All areas were grimey and unkempt and stank of paint! The gentleman rolling his own cigarette in a rear doorway did not add to the ambience! In view of this we looked for alternative accomodation, which we found...

We do work hard to keep all areas of the hotel looking good, and I apologise if this was not the case on your arrival - other recent reviews have all been very positive about levels of cleanliness and comfort. Our cancellation policy is communicated in writing to all confirmed bookings, as 12 noon the day prior to arrival. Nice Hotel

Lovely clean and comfortable hotel - but rooms on the small side. Centrally located, but still very quiet. Staff very helpfull and polite. Breakfast very good, but would like to have had the option eating a bit later on the Sunday (breakfast 8.30 until 9.30) after sampling the local beers the night before a later breakfast would have been appreciated. Would stay here again
Fantastic Food and Service

Myhusband and I ate at the Keswick Lodge after it had gone through an extensive refurbishment. I would highly reccomend this hotel to anyone wanting traditional pub food served with a bit of class. The choices were mouthwatering and both our choices were very well presented and tasted delicious. The vegetarian choices were most appealing unlike most places which don't really seem to bother catering for Vegetarians. The bar staff were very friendly and smiley which made the night perfect for us. A must visit while you are in Keswick!
