Great place to say to enjoy wonderful Harrogate
After reading thr reviews on this site i was worried about my stay. DO NOT BELIEVE THE BAD REVIEWS - THIS PLACE IS GOOD!!!!! Stayed here for two nights whilst going to York Races!! Hotel was very very clean and the breakfast was the best i have had whilst on a holiday!!! The location is brilliant been so close to the hotel. We stayed over the weekend and it was very peaceful and a good night sleep was had. The car park is very handy been just to the rear of the hotel and secure. Would deffinatley stay again in... more
not what you would expect
i booked the rooms through late rooms.com, as it was my first time in yorkshire/hrrogate i was exited about my stay there! The hotel looked like it was in private grounds on the photograph, however it was on the rad, adjacent to the stray. A good point about the hotel was the car park at the back, from the front it was also a lovely building! When we got to the room we thought it was ok, the bathroom was small but recently decorated and the bed seemed comfy. The 'double bed' was in fact 2 singles pushed together, all the... more
Adequate!
We booked this hotel through Airmiles and were very disappointed to find that we had been put in a pokey room at the back of the hotel. Why don't they give you the chance to upgrade? However, as it was only for one night we thought that it would be adequate, which it was. The bathroom had been renovated and was very modern and pleasing. The room was a very odd shape which made it seem even smaller. One of the strip lights wasn't working which meant that the only light was from the small bedside table lamps. We did report it to the... more
A hotel to think about
My wife and I stayed at this hotel for one night as we were visiting the Home & Gift Trade show. It is in a very good position for all the amenities of the town and has plenty of parking at the rear (which is a blessing in Harrogate). Booking in was pleasant with the recepionist very helpful. The room was No 208 at the front of the hotel, it was clean and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was also very clean. But the decor is a bit worn and is in need of a touch of paint here and there. The dining room was not open on Sunday... more
Might be OK for one or two nights
Stayed for two nights for a conference. Staff responded to requests but a feeling that they were just doing the minimum regarding customer service. Good location for conference centre and town centre: Short incline to get to shops, Bettys etc. I was in a room overlooking the main road-lovely view but beware, the road is busy so if you are troubled by traffic noise you might want a room at the back of the hotel. Bathroom and bed good. If I had a choice I wouldn't choose this hotel again although it was adequate.
There are better hotels available
I stayed here for 2 nights as part of a conference trip, with the conference being held in the hotel. As previously noted, the hotel is in a good location and had plenty of car parking at the rear. Check in was a rather dull experience, hardly 2 words from the man checking me in, no mention of breakfast or dinner times etc. The first room I had, 322 was small and overlooked the kitchen extractor fans, was very noisy and being warm in the room, I couldnt open the window due to the noise so I went back to reception to ask to move.<br... more
Excellent location but .....
We have just returned from a 2 night stay at this hotel and what an odd experience it was. On the plus side it is a well maintained building in the Montepellier quarter of Harrogate with a lovely view across The Stray. Public areas are well maintained, our room was spacious and comfortable and the bathroom adequate. Breakfast was freshly cooked from good quality ingredients. On the minus side staffing seemed minimal and service lacked focus. I tried to check our reservation the day before we were due to arrive: eight phone... more

OK for Harrogate
Managed to get in at the last minute and clearly our double room was a single with a double bed squeezed in. Everything was there, including telly and lovely bathroom and the room was very clean. Heating was also first rate. Good situation, only a couple of minutes from the town - and Bettys - but the decor is tired and reception often unattended, and you have to ring from the phone on the desk to speak to someone. Didn't have dinner there but breakfast was OK, though we could have walked in from the street as noone checked we were... more
Great hotel
Great location. Lovely room. Staff efficient. Good breakfast. Secure on site free parking. Would highly recommend this hotel
Harrogate's Best Kept Secret!
What a fantastic hotel, quite small in comparison to others I've stayed in when in Harrogate before. This place definitely hits the spot. Good, home-cooked food, friendly staff and that feeling of being a bit of a home from home. The rooms are comfortable and warm. The added bonus - a free car park on site! Would recommend to anyone.
