Kensington Hotel

This was such a disappointment. We had booked in for dinner at 7. We arrived at 7pm on Saturday, after a six hour journey, with elderly parents in their nineties. One is partially sighted, the other can only walk with the aid of a stick. The hotel were advised in advance of these facts. Dinner was served on Saturday nights from 6 - 7 only. We were thus ushured straight in for our meal without any opportunity to see our rooms, check in or even wash our hands. Just had a 2 week holiday at the Kensington Hotel with my wife and 2 children. I am struggling to think of anything about the hotel that is not first class All staff are extrememly friendly and efficient. Nothing is too much trouble (even requests from children) Food is excellent and all home cooked. The puddings particularly are to die for (especially the chocolate fudge cake) ,The kitchen always ensured that we were all well fed (particularly my daughter who is quite fussy with her food). When we arrived on Saturday,after being told we could book in at 2.00 we had to wait until 2.35 despite an expected coach party not being due till 3.00.Room was clean and comfortable,however no wash basin in bathroom,small hand basin in bedroom.Breakfasts were excellent,evening meals were very poor,limited choice,often ran out of food e.g hotpot replaced by scampi after 30 mins.vegetables very bland and did not vary much over the week we were there,desserts also limited e.g apple crumble 4 nights running.

THe service is next to none. Absolutely impressed! I left my work diary and was panicking abt it. It was posted to me straight away. wonderful staff! thanks!

We stayed at the Kensington for a 2 night stay during August after a wedding in Norwich. First impressions were good and we checked in fine. The first problem was when I went to have a shower and found the shower broken (boiling or freezing cold), this was after overlooking the fact that the bathroom was obviously a converted cupboard and was so small the sink was in the bedroom as no room in the 'bathroom'. I have just returned from a 5 day stay at the Kensington Hotel Great Yarmouth. I took 25 members of our club and we all had a very enjoyable stay at the Kensington. The Hotel is family owned who are all most helpful, it has recently undergone a tastefull refurbishment, the food was extremely good with a wide and varied menu, we can certanily recommend this hotel. firstly, i have to say that i am incredibly fussy! we turned up unannounced,and were found a spacious family room immediatly (double bed,2 singles,and room for our travel cot.) the en-suite bathroom was lovely,very clean,with a bath and a shower ,toiletries,and lots of lovely fluffy,fresh white towels. the bedroom was spacious and airy and also very clean. the beds were extremley comfortable.the whole hotel was really lovely,as were the owners and staff, we were made to feel really welcome and everyone was very friendly. i was with my... more
