Sea View Hotel

Someone complained that there is no ocean view...well, spend $25.00/day and get it. If the person who complained that there was no ocean view was unprepared to part with a extra few dollars for that wonderful vista, so be it, but don't complain afterwards about staring out a window into your neighbor's room. The rooms are clean and spacious and the location is central. Just completed our stay at Seaview. Paid $15 a night for a large, clean, airconditioned room. Bathtub and nice shower. The location is great and we had absolutely no problems with the staff. Staff were friendly and not at all pushy as previously reported. The best part was a lift. Not having to climb stairs was an absolute treat. The only downside is that breakfast is not included. Seaview was the only hotel in all of Vietnam where breakfast was not included.

We arrived by train from Saigon and the taxi driver dropped us at this hotel. Actually very clean and good value for money at $12 a double room per night (over the weekend, sat, sunday) - with 2 double beds per room. The best thing was that we arrived at 5am, and they didnt charge extra to let us into the rooms at this time - some hotels would jump at the chance to charge a half day but this one didn't. We did not read reviews of this hotel in tripadvisor before we booked it. During our 3 days of staying it did not appear to be such bad place. Our rooms were large and clean, and location close to the beach. Though the staff spoke little English they were very friendly and helpful, anxious to show us thing. We stayed at Sea View for 3 nights, US$20 night for a very big room and friendly service. Unfortunately, our stay was marred by being ripped off by the hotel staff in booking train tickets to Hoi An. We payed US$25/ ticket (we couldn't find any travel agencies nearby that sold train tickets to allow us to check prices). We stayed here on our Vietnam trip after flying from Ho Chi Minh city. Good price of US $22.00 for a suite room which had a divided section with a small sitting area,tv, fridge and the bedroom had one single and 1 double bed. The room came with a balcony and had double doors that opened up onto it. The location was good with lots of restaurants nearby, and close to the beach. Don't believe everything you read about this hotel - sometimes negative experiences can be the result of a bad hotel staff member, not the hotel itself. We stayed in the Sea View for a few days in early Jan 2007. We had no accommodation booked in Nha Trang and so walked the streets looking for something suitable. After checking out several horrible hotels (no lifts, no showers, dirty, rip-offs etc) we were finally shown a lovely room at the Sea View for only US$15 per night. Absolutely unbelievable. I am not a picky person, nor do I relish the opportunity to bash a hotel over a few small, nitpicky details. In fact, this is the first time I've ever been inclined to write a negative review on TripAdvisor. My experience here at the Sea View was so freeckin bad that I just couldn't let it go. Arrived here late at night after hopping off the train from Hue. Checked into our room... don't believe the "wood-carved furniture" romance Lonely Planet lists in regards to the room. Gotta say we found this hotel average at best. We had booked over the internet and received a confirmation by email. However when we arrived they knew nothing of our booking as their email had apparently been down for a whole month, and no rooms that we wanted left. So it seems the email confirmation was just an automated response. We had to settle for a lesser room and weren't that impressed at the standard. The towels were threadbare and stained and shower curtain really mouldy. You'll find better elsewhere!

The Seaview is one of the best budget hotels we have stayed in anywhere. Large, bright, clean rooms. Good friendly servive. Swimming pool. Super location 2 minutes from the famous beach. Lots of good restaurants within walking distance. Plenty local atmosphere. Fantastic rate at $20.00 for a suite. One drawback - Beds new and big but a bit hard until you get used to them. Highly recommended

Stayed at the relatively new Sea View hotel at 4B Biet Thu Street, central Nha Trang on last two visits. Ideally situated next to the beach, restaurants, bars, etc. Lovely rooms (especially the suites - priced from around USD20 per night, depending on time of year). Two-star hotel with five-star smiles and service from all staff. Definitely the travel bargain of the century!!!
