Hey! It's a bunkhouse. But it's the best.

Stayed here 7th & 9th August. Bunk was comfy, nothing wrong with shower and the kitchen is well equiped. Nigel also went that extra bit by storing my personal stuff while I was away overnight on the 8th. Ideal location not only is it next to the pub but it's close enough for a walk to town centre. So a big thanks to all at the bunkhouse and Inn for the friendly hospitality and the great meal I had on the Sunday night. Nothing wrong with the place

We, a group of 5 on motor bikes, stayed one night in the Bunkhouse. Nothing wrong with the place, food and beer nearby (Old bridge Inn), places to sit outside and have a drink, good shower, friendly staff .... what more do you need? One remark in general for all the bunkhouses and youthhostels: remove the bars or boards on the foot-end of the beds! When someone is over 1.90 long the beds are to small (short).

We are all experienced hostellers over many years going away every month as a group& had been looking forward to staying in what is meant to be a 4 star hostel. However we were disappointed - as were another large group staying at the same time. On the plus side, the rooms are clean & all ensuite. Linen & towels provided - all fine. The beds could be more comfortable (the metal frames are pretty basic) but overall, we were all reasonably happy with the rooms (we've stayed in better but also worse!) Fantastic bunkhouse!

Friends and I have just come back from our stay at the Aviemore Bunkhouse. What a location to access the mountains and all outdoor activities! Booking easy, staff friendly and funny! Room brilliant, own bathroom, bed linen and towels at no extra charge! Endless hot showers after a hard day on the hill and it is not expensive. I would highly recommend a stay at the bunkhouse, we will definately be back!

This was one of the worst experiences that I have ever had! My hubby and I were married in Scotland and for our honeymoon we travelled about exploring the sites. We ended up in Aviemore one night. We were on a budget and I wasn't familiar with a "bunkhouse" to begin with so I thought it would be a good deal. A good night's sleep - priceless. This place was loud, loud, loud all throughout the night. Hard small bed. Shower and sink on a timer. Would not recommend at all.

It is disappointing to read negative reviews from guests who are not willing, at the time, to speak to either myself or a member of staff if there is something wrong. To clarify Nightmare's points, the bed used in the private room is a double bed, 5' x 6' 6" and is only 12 months old. The showers have concative taps so that everyone can enjoy constant and limitless hot showers. Nigel Reid
Poor value for money and Noisey

An overpriced, yet well placed hostel/binkhouse. Very noisey, very basic for the price. The kitchen seated about 12 people, the hostel sleeps about 40, there is no commnal area to sit except your noisey bedroom. For £20 each a night, this is way over priced.

Current rate for a bunk in a six bunk room is £15 per night not £20. The bunkhouse often fills with gregarious like minded people who enjoy to sit and have a yarn over a cup of tea. This sometimes does not suit individual travellers. There is invarioubly a strong comoradary with guests staying at the bunkhouse, it seems a pity it was not the case on this occassion.
