superb welcoming, made to feel instantly at home
we stayed at Orchard Pickers Self-Catering cottage for three blissful weeks - so quiet, nobody fussed, but when help required it was a most warm and efficient response. Thank you - will definitely be back. Kevin and Jacqueline
Peace and tranquility - just what we needed!
We were made to feel very welcome - at no point did we feel like unwanted guests! We had given an indication of arrival time on our booking, and we let in straight away when we arrived - no problem at all. It is true that they request you leave the room by 10.00am on your final morning, but this is also clearly stated in the room, and they do say please discuss this with them if this is inconvenient. We were out before 10am on every morning anyway, simply because we wanted to make the most of our holiday. We did not feel rushed at all... more
Get it in writing!
Booked accomodation for 2 adults & 2 dogs for 3 nights and agreed a rate of £69 per night for The Orchard Pickers Cottage, over the phone. Total £207. They took £100 deposit instead of £25 from my account! A week and a half later, I got an email to say the rate quoted was incorrect, was asked for £20 more per night plus £10 per dog per night. Total increased to £327! Essentially to stay in their shed! I don't think so!
Management response from Iffinhouse

We apologise for any misunderstanding that arose over prices. There was an unfortunate time lag in returning the deposit caused by a malfuncationing electronics. As is our policy we offered alternative local accommodation which in the event was not taken up.

Family Feel Good Stay
My family and I stayed here and were well and truly looked after and made to feel part of the family. The owners daughter baked us cookies for our room and even played with our 20tmh daughter whilst my husband and I had breakfast the following morning. A personal familiar touch in gorgeous grounds lots of space for children to run free. A great escape from the daily grind and well worth considering.
Fantastic!
We stayed at Iffin Farmhouse for two nights and had a wonderful time! The Farmhouse is situated in the countryside but just outside of Canterbury so a fantastic location for a quiet break with a beautiful garden outlook, yet also the possibility to see the nearby sights, such as Canterbury Cathedral. The room was en-suite and well equipped with everything we needed. The food was lovely and all homemade and produced locally, which i though was a nice touch. The owner and family were very helpful with advice on the local area, and... more
A bit impersonal
Wasnt allowed in until 6pm then kicked out by 10am on Sunday morning....Not worth £85 quid to simply sleep here.... There is no need to kick people out at 10am, we hadnt even showered and straight after breakfast we were ushered out and they did not have a booking then. Rather rude...... Feel a bit like an uninvited guest as it is really just a couple of spare rooms in their house.
Loved Iffin Farmhouse.
Stayed at Iffin Farmhouse for 2 nights and had a really good time. The location is lovely, not in the centre but in the heart of the countryside, with scenic views. It is only 5 minutes drive from the centre of canterbury though so it is great for seeing the sites. The farmhouse has horses and cats and a dog and a lot of land to go with it. The owner and family were very friendly and helpful. They left us to come and go as we pleased. Breakfast was lovely, she just asked what time we would like it. There was a choice of... more
Peaceful Countryside Retreat
Stayed at the Iffin Farmhouse for one night as a 'getaway' from our busy working and London lives. A truly beautiful home in superb grounds. Staff friendly and helpful. Excellent cooked english breakfast using local produce. We stayed in the Blue Room which is very spacious room with a comfortable bed. Only 5-10 minutes from the centre of canterbury where we ate out at the Caffe Uno (Italian) Establishment and italian restaurant highly recommended!
Idyllic!
Just returned from a lovely family holiday weekend at the Iffin Farmhouse. This beautiful, simple, quiet place is just a short cab ride from the Canterbury train station---painless to get to from London. The surrounding area is all leafy narrow roads and meadows full of flowers, yet it's just a few minutes by car to the busy village of Canterbury. The farmhouse itself has lots of open green space for the kids to wander through, complete with friendly ponies and a playful dog. Our hostess and her children were all delightful, friendly... more
