Mercure Orleans Centre

The room we had was very large and clean. Good friendly service from the staff. We were there on a 'fete' day (national holiday) and so we ate in the hotel restaurant, which is ok, not fantastic, but good. Breakfast (included in our price) was quite generous and the coffee was good. The hotel is located close to the river walk ways and is 10 mins walk from the cathedral as well..WIFI was $5 euro an hour which is pretty steep. Stay here if your are visiting Orleans, but if you want to visit the northern chateaux of the Loire Valley than... more

Great location on the river. Staff are very friendly and speak many languages. Parking in the hotel is free. Internet is 9.90E for 24 hours. Furniture in the very spacious room was a bit drab, but didn't matter at all.

My husband and I stayed here one night in May, having rented a car at the airport in Paris and driven to Orleans after our flight. It was a modern hotel with an elevator and air conditioning, although it didn't work very well. From our room, you could see the Loire, which was quite high when we were there. The location is fairly close to the cathedral and other sights in Orleans. Parking was free, wi-fi was not, although it was available through the Orange network for a reasonable fee. Stopped over on our way down to the Lot and what a good choice. The pool was brilliant after a long hot drive from Boulogne and desk staff were charming. The room was spacious for our family of four, v. clean and excellent bathroom, aircon etc. We didn't eat at the hotel but the poolside area was v. pleasant. The Mercure has a secure car park, and is located by the banks of the Loire - don't get too excited though - the river banks here are very dull and you'll quickly head up by foot through some lovely narrow streets to the main town.... more

We spent two nights here in mid-July. We had a spacious room on the 7th floor, with excellent views of both the river and the city (the Cathedral's towers much in evidence - especialy when they caught the rays of the setting sun). We dined in the restaurant just across the street on the Saturday night - and it was fine, if not really special. On the Sunday, we lunched in the main square in the middle of town - a very good cheap meal at one of the many brasseries with pavement tables. The fact that the car park was full of British cars in the evening and then totally empty by the morning sums up this hotel. It is a great cheap stop over for one night and nothing more. Orleans is exactly half way between the Dourdogne and Calais. As we drove into Orleans late at night it looked, quite frankly, horrible and didn't seem the type of place to walk around at night Check in was smooth, the room was as basic as you can get but was clean and comfortable. Stayed here for 2 nights while attending a friends wedding. Nice large room. No problems whatsover.

Good base for Loire castles and/or Sancerre. Good hotel on the Loire at 10 minute walk from city center. Several small restaurants in immediate vicinity. Refreshing pool, with alongside terrace. Car parking possible for EUR 5.

Being interested in the history of Orleans and the castles of the Loire, we chose to stay for 4 nights in the Mercure Orleans Centre. The hotel was tourist class but quite comfortable. We had a rather large room with two giant and pleasant beds. The pictures on the hotel website were actually really representative for room size and interior.
