A few problems but good value
We stayed one night at the new Novotel in Liverpool for a short break. It's obviously new and still finding it's feet, so there were both good and bad points: UPS - tidy, modern decor in rooms although clearly aimed at business travellers - no marks, stains etc yet - well equipped rooms - comfy bed, great shower in bathroom, good toiletries, tea and coffee etc - great view of Liverpool One and Albert Dock on 11th floor - friendly welcome at check in despite receptionist being trained - great location - on the... more
Family stay at Novotel
We booked three rooms for five of us staying overnight for a family get together at Alma de Cuba which was just around the corner. We had tried other hotels but this offered a very good room rate of £65 a night no change/no cancellation which we went for. Found it easily and the carpark opposite, booked in quickly and efficiently, though weren't told we needed to swipe our card keys in the lift to get it working which took us a few minutes to work out.. one of the rooms the door didn't lock but the room was changed quickly (the first... more
Great hotel
We emailed the hotel a few days before to ask if we could check in a little early at 1pm. The hotel replied that we could if rooms were cleaned but they couldn't guarentee it. We arrived at 1pm and were told check in wasn't untill 2pm but when I explained i'd emailed regarding an early check in the lady on reception phoned through to the cleaning team and made a note of all the rooms that were available. She then quickly and efficiently checked us in. We had booked a standard room which was lovely, whilst it wasn't massive, it was... more
Great hotel!
This hotel opened 2 november 2009 and is a great place to stay! The location is super! Very close to shopping area and to Albert Dock ( a short walk though). The staff was absolutely top quality! Free internet for 20 minutes in lobby. Location is very quiet and You cannot hear any neighbours at all! Close to the bars especially O´Neills which has got great food (if You like English food of course) and cheap beers. I would definately stay here again! Only thing - there were nowhere to put your garbage in the room - but we were told it would... more
Just Average
Hotel still got teathing problems. But as you would expect its clean and very modern. The location is great a 5 min walk to the centre.rooms ok but not very big , good bathroom with seperate toilet, . Overall not a bad stay but reception are slow at booking you in .
Trying their best
Went with group of friends, took ages to get rooms for some reason. The staff were friendly but definately nervous all the time! I think they were constantly being watched by management. All the staff tried their hardest to solve any issues we had. The room was lovely, double shower no bath and the extractor fan didnt work in the toilet. The food is way overpriced €13 for a breakfast! Definately in a great location. The main shopping strip is round the corner and close to all the pubs and clubs.
10 phone calls later they decide NOT to accept my Tesco voucher
What a nightmare - and we haven't even arrived yet - hopefully some review will kick them in to action. We called to book two weeks ago with central resrervations using our Tesco vouchers (almost legal tender). Advised that it would be fine to book once opened on the 2nd November when they had confirmed that they would accept the vouchers. Called central reservations several time to make the booking, but the systems were not updated. Called the hotel 3 times to be told that they would definitely take the vouchers and that they had let... more
Leave it a month or two.
We travelled to this hotel to give us a base from which to go drinking in Liverpool city centre. The hotel is perfectly located for this, being just round the corner from the main shopping and party districts. We could see that the hotel will in time be perfectly OK. However when we arrived it was clearly the first Saturday night the hotel had been fully open and fully booked and the staff were faced with crashing computers, malfunctioning machinery and a loss of leadership on the front desks which meant that we arrived to scene of... more
Great location, but a few teething problems with this new hotel
This hotel was in a great location, and the room was very clean and tiday (as one would expect for a hotel that had only been open for four days!). Breakfast was lovely, although the brand new breadknife provided to cut the bread rolls was so viciously sharp that I cut my finger quite badly - it is still painful over three days later! On our second day staying at the hotel the hairdryer in our room broke. I called down to reception who, after a long conversation, said that they would let me into a vacant room to use the hairdryer there, and... more
