Residence Suites

Booked the honeymoon suite, was a nice enough room except for the ant trail we found the next morning coming out of a crack near the kitchenette. Then the roaches the next day. View from the terrace was partially blocked by another room placed in front of ours. For the cost (€470/2 nights) wasn't worth the atrocious service. When we asked them to book us a cab for the morning we needed to leave by ferry, not only did they book it half an hour after we had requested, but they failed to mention that instead of taxi they meant minibus.... more

We are just back from Santorini where we spent two nights at the Residence Suites in Oia. We had been tempted by the photos on their sites(Don't be fooled, it is definitely NOT a sleek upscale place…) and thus agreed to pay 400 euros (546 us dollars) for 2 nights . Honestly this is THEFT! The view is beautiful but don't expect good service or clean and decent accomodations because you'll find NONE.We got room 104. Residence Inn suites is located in Oia. It's a little walk into Oia, but so are most of the places on the caldera. It has a main deck with patio chairs to sunbathe on and the view from here is beautiful. It also has two cool water jacuzzis but only one of the was in working order. From our rooms, we didn't find our views to be anything special as they were blocked by other things. First of all I think everyone should visit Santorini - it is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Oia is a great place to stay while on the island, it is a lovely bohemian village with narrow streets, lots of arty shops and great restaurants. We spent a fantastic time there. If you go definately eat in Kastro to watch the sunset and eat their excellent food and also try Ambrosia & Nectar. I would whole-heartedly recommend Residence Suites. Its in a great location in the heart of Oia. You wake up to a lovely breakfast on your terrace patio and the rooms were clean and unique, especially for the off-season price we paid. The best part of it was the staff! When our flight was delayed due to rain, the staff (esp Celeste) called the airport for us, then escorted us there herself! She even came in the airport and helped us find a hotel near the airport when we learned our flight was cancelled. It made all the difference and we will... more

The Residence Suites was a very nice place to stay in Oia. It has a fantastic caldera view, and the spotless, huge suites are in the "cave" style of Oia. The location is in the main "beehive" area of Oia, also, which is just minutes away from some great restaurants, like Skala and 1800. It does not have a pool (as the website appears), but it does have two hot tubs, one that is actually hot, and another one that is a bit cool but does have the classic "infinite" view. My husband and I was so excited to be staying in such a high class hotel the first few nights of our Greek honeymoon and just like many others have already stated the hotel is not what it appears to be online...indeed the photographers should get some kind of award for presenting the hotel in such a beautiful manner online...the view is breath taking and probably one of the best around...however other than that the hotel lacks a lot...or at least wasn't what we thought it would be...the pool is tiny...our private pool in our hotel in Crete... more

Let me state it simply, I have never stayed in a more deceivingly awful place in my whole life!! Unfortunately the negative reviews didnt exist when i booked this place. Hovel is an understatement. In fact I would give a zero star rating if possible. I have outlined my reasons below: 1. The bathroom is a shower toilet combo. The shower is nothing more than a hose on the floor. DO NOT BOOK AT RESIDENCE SUITES OIA! My husband and I wanted to treat ourselves to a beautiful hotel for the first two nights of our honeymoon and booked here. What a mistake. We found out the hard way that this place is owned by "ecorama tours," a faceless internet business that uses the misleading photos to sucker people into booking. Imagine our surprise when we arrived at the bus station (that's where they have you check in) and were informed, nonchalantly, that the hotel was overbooked and they were putting us someplace else.... more

We booked the Residence Suite together with a flight from our travel agency. As far as the website of the hotel is concerned, everything looked top class. But as some other reviewer pointed out: The photos on the website doesn't match reality. The yakuzi and the "pool" are located on a very small terrace and are nothing more than two very small ponds.
