Hotel Darussaade Istanbul

We stayed for 6 nights and everything was perfect. The staff had upgraded us from a double room to a suite at no extra cost and our son had an excellent single room with a lovely light bathroom. The renovation had been excellently done and the rooms were airy and comfortable as well as being sympathetically decorated. We spent only 3 nights in Istanbul so we decided to treat ourselves and booked at the Darussaade even if it was a bit over budget for us. I guess the building itself played a part in our choice. And what a perfect choice!! What to say, everything was perfect, fantastic rooms and the staff makes you feel home.

With its professional staff, Darussaade Istanbul gives me a memorable opportunity to feel the old city which is called Sultanahmet. Initially, the hotels location is excellent, just steps away from Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and sea shore. Our meeting with Draussaade was a marvelous incidence. We were staying at a hotel in Sultanahmet but we were not comfortable in there and decided to change it. To change the hotel we spent sometime and wondered around in Sultanahmet, visited many hotels in the area. When we walked around the Blue Mosque, we suddenly saw this marvelous hotel at the backside of the Mosque, a newly renovated Ottoman mansion. We stayed here for four nights, and throughly enjoyed it. It is a really great boutique hotel, with traditional Ottoman decor in a recently renovated Ottoman house. All the staff are extremely helpful, the breakfast is all home made (including freshly-made omelettes on request) and served with a smile. This recently-opened hotel has brand-new rooms, is very clean and comfortable, and has a top-notch staff willing to do anything to make you happy. The reception staff also speak English well, which is helpful especially if you are new to Turkey. Close to the tourist attractions, it is a great place to stay, and they serve a great breakfast buffet (included). Darussaade hotel that had looked so lovely on the net, turned out to be even beyond our most rosy expectations. It was new, clean small and luxurious and very well situated at the south end of that long narrow cobbled Akbyik street so full of atmoshere, but extremely quiet as there is very little traffic except taxis and tradesmen, as the maze of little streets is hard to navigate although we were not more than 200meters from the Blue mosque.
