Aston Hotel Dumfries

having just left the hotel week or so ago i was knocked off my feet by the quality of some of the staff , a Receptionist who knew her job as if it was a life or death situation and bar saff that were so friendly i lost track of time talking. to the general manager do not lose the receptionist you will be able to tell which person i mean she is an asset to your hotel!

Booked through laterooms and got a great rate on B and B - don't recommend you book through the hotel website for the best deals. We really enjoyed our time here...fantastic mix of the old and the new in the hotel with the public areas being relatively grand in an older part of the hotel and the rooms being in a brand new, if slightly soulless, extension. Stayed here with my partner on a DBB basis, booked through easybreaks website. The hotel was easy to find (just follow the signs for the Dumfries Royal Infirmary Hospital). On arrival, there was plenty of parking with CCTV for vehicle security. Check-in was quick and fuss free. Just had a weekend stay at the Aston Hotel Dumfries. Though we had booked an ordinary room on DBB basis we found we were given an upgraded room which was larger than expected. As the hotel has only recently opened the room was well furnished, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. It had a king sized bed and the bathroom had a bath and a shower cubicle. My partner and i have just returned from the Aston hotel this afternoon, We stayed for a 2 day break on a DBB package and what a wonderful time we have had!.. We actually booked this hotel due to the reviews it has received.. and each and every positive remark it has had, are very very much deserved.. we received a warm welcom on checking in, The double room was just lovely.. My Husband and I had our wedding at The Crichton and we used this hotel for some of our guests and had the bridal suite for 2 nights ourselves. I could not reccommend this hotel more. It had only been open for 4 weeks so everything was new and fresh. The rooms were beautiful with comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms. All our guests had a fantastic time and are still commenting on this hotel now. Well..what can we say? Went to the Aston for Hogmanay and it was wonderful. Everything was perfect... room, food, staff, decor,location. We could not fault it at all and shall be booking again for this year. Brilliant value for money. Other hotels could learn a lot from this one. We shall be back!

A Wonderful hotel and a great experience. The best by far. Other hotels should use the Aston in Dumfries as a bench mark.

This hotel was the best 3 star we have ever stayed in and as the hotel had only been open for 6 weeks everything was new and clean. The food was wonderful. We were allocated £17.50 per person for dinner as we were on DBB and on the 3 nights we were there we never exceeded this and could not have eaten anymore. A lovely welcome awaits you at the Aston hotel it is well recommended. I am a regular business traveller and its a surprise to come across somewhere like this. The decor is chic and modern yet retaining many of the old and original features in the reception block. The rooms are contempary and house the most comfortable beds they are phenomenal.
