Fantastic value for a night out
This is a great hotel to stay at if you're aving a night out in Manchester and don't want to have to try and sort out a taxi home! Rooms are cheap at £50 a night, but very comfortable and clean, and the bathrooms are surprisingly spacious. We stayed as a group of 10 spaced out between 6 rooms. All of us agreed that it was a lovely place to stay and great value for money.
Value for money and a great location
I stayed in this hotel as a single business traveller. It was cheap at £65 for the room (breakfast an extra £5.25 if you want it). I was really pleased with my choice. The room was quite basic but comfortable and quiet. The bathroom was great - a futuristic 'pod' made entirely of plastic which meant it was really easy for them to keep it spotlessly clean, though with wood-effect floor, marble-effect sink and chrome fittings it wasn't as cheap and nasty as it sounds. Basically I have become sick of hotels that don't make the effort to keep... more
Well thought out facilities
We needed 2 rooms including one for my disabled mother. The receptionist was very friendly & helpful & arranged for us to have 2 rooms with a connecting door. Both rooms were clean & comfortable but the disabled room had a number of features that made life so much easier for my mother eg large numbers on telephone dial, alarm cords next to bed & large walk in shower. Would definitinely use this hotel again. Convenient location, underground car parking & good value for money
Good hotel if you're going to the Palace Theatre
We stayed here as we were going to see Peter Kay in The Producers and this was one of the closest hotels at a very good price of £60 per room per night. We had 2 rooms for 1 night. Reception is very nicely presented, staff helpful and polite. Both rooms were very clean and both bathrooms also very clean. Unusual bonus for us, 4 pillows supplied on bed without having to ask for an extra pillow each! Fantastic location for Palace Theatre, and plenty of bars in easy reach, but room was very quiet and not disturbed at all... more
Great Hotel, Location and Staff amazing
We booked 2 rooms at this hotel as we were going to a Manchester United game. We had my younger brother with us. The location is great - near all shops and around the corner from the tram which brings you to Old trafford in 10 minutes. The hotel itself is a GEM!. It was clean, cheap at £59 per room and the staff were more helpful than you could imagine. I was pleasantly surprised as I expected the stay to be average for the money we were paying. I would definitly reccomend it and if I were staying in Manchester again I would stay there... more
Clean, central, comfortable, cheap.
I went to Manchester for a night to see old friends. £65 for a really clean room. This hotel fits the bill perfectly if you want something that does the job. The location is perfect; really safe and very central. The hotel itself is efficient, clean and comfy. Check in and check out were both painless. Staff were accommodating and courteous, even when we were sitting in the bar at 3 in the morning slightly worse for wear. My room was *totally* clean, the shower was wonderful. Next time I go to Manchester this will be my... more
Room sold twice to other guests whilst I was sleeping at 3.00am
Stayed at this hotel with a colleague to entertain clients also staying at same hotel during a 2 day business trip. Booked by telephone requesting non smoking room, but given a smoking room. This was changed immediately on complaint to a non smoking disabled room 330, at the end of the corridor on the 3rd floor with noisy fans and airco untis running 24/7. At 3.12am 3 people attempted to get into my room, (despite the hotel policy of only 2 people per double room) having been checked in and given the key by reception! A very... more
Great staff
I stayed at Ibis Portland street hotel for three nights during a visit to the North of England and I must say I was very impressed by the overall experience. The hotel offers excellent value for money and a good city centre location. Rooms are rather simple but have a modern design and still manage to offer a reasonable level of comfort to the guest. There’s also a cozy restaurant and the food tastes great. I was particularly impressed by the quality of service I received from the staff. They were all very friendly, helpful, energetic and... more
great hotel
ive just returned from a weekend stay at the ibis hotel in manchester. the hotel is in a brilliant location right in the city centre. the hotel is about a 5 minute walk to all the shops. the hotel itself has a small bar and restaurant. the rooms are a bit on the small side but the are spotless clean. overall i would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in manchester. it has a fixed room rate of £57 pound a night. i priced other hotel in the region which were more expensive and did not look great from seeing them. its easily reached... more
