Maestre

After some nightmares getting to other city hotels in Andalucia by car, this one was quite easy and signposted. Very close to the action too - within walking distance of all the relevant sights in Cordoba. Room was...clean and functional. Nothing that great but nothing that bad either (hence 3 stars). Reception was efficient and polite. You wouldn't want to spend any real time here - it's not that kind of hotel - but it's fine as a base for the sights of the city; especially if you're driving.

We stayed in Cordoba for one night in the hostel - we thought we were getting one private room, but they ended up giving us an amazing apartment - #9 - with a kitchenette (with fridge and all dishes, etc.), a patio, a living area, and a very comfortable queen-sized bed. we didn't know that it was the feria de cordoba - the annual festival of the city of cordoba - so there were parades everywhere on horseback and floats with the virgin on them and people in traditional attire (Flamenco dresses, etc) - - while we were eating on the patio,... more

Great little hotel. Quiet, clean rooms, friendly staff and pleasant courtyard. Easy access by car, (signposted from the main road in to town) and great location (five minutes walk to Mezquita). The hotel's underground car park is a real asset since I can imagine that parking could be a nightmare (it was fiesta when we were staying so the whole town was completely booked out and I never saw an empty parking space in the street the whole time - in the historic part anyway). Would stay there again.

Just back from our home in Spain, while there we decided to drive up to Cordoba and rang the Hotel Maestre to book a room. Unfortunately, both the hotel & apartments were full so we settled for a room in the hostal. Once we found the place( driving in Cordoba is a nightmare) we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms, though small were spotlessly clean with a nice bathroom & loads of hot water. The hostal was quiet & had underground car parking. Very happy with the Maestre : we picked it as a "cheap" 2 star opener to our Andalusia circuit, but in the event found it had charm, comfort, friendly staff, and a good central situation while still accessible by car and with its own car park (a squeeze, but manageable). 5 minutes on foot from the Mezquita. Excellent value for the price, and better than many 3 stars.

I liked the hostal. Their courtyard was great and there was a roof terrace we used for read in the evening. i even liked the breakfast. looked like a full english breakfast; sausage, bacon , eggs, the whole package. Nothing wrong with the staff as well. Just don't expect a 5 stars treatment when you're paying for only one! The location is great, the mezquita only a short walk away. I enjoyed staying there!!

Clean, quiet and full of character. You get what you pay for so if you want swimming pools, facials etc go somewhere else! This hotel/hostel is very near centre, near all important sites and full of Andalusian character. You feel as if you are in real Spain, not some faceless modern hotel which could be in any city in the world.

This hotel is conveniently located a short walk form the Mezquita and other sights of Cordoba. The neighborhood is not very exciting but there are a couple of bars/restaurants and an internet cafe close by. There is a pleasant courtyard and you have your choice of hotel rooms or apartments. HOTEL/HOSTEL MAESTRE is terrible. They have no hotpitality for guests. I had bad time when I was there.

Hotel Maestre is very nice. It has a lovely courtyard with plants, a fountain and chairs and tables to relax. It is a very good deal in relation to the price. It is also in walking distance from the Mezkita, the gardens of ALcazar, the old jewish quarter, and near some very charming restaurants, bars, and the arab baths. It has also has an indoor parking lot.
