Bella Venezia

Stayed in the Bella Venizia for 3 nights last week. The hotel was charming, the staff excellent, efficient and friendly. The rooms although small were beautiful and very well maintained. The breakfast was not great but ths seems to be a common problem in Italian hotels. I would definately recommend this hotel for it location, style and overall good service.

Hotel Bella Venezia – Venice This hotel is a little gem tucked away equidistant from St Mark’s Square and the Rialto Bridge. My wife and I stayed at the wonderful Bella Venezia during our Honeymoon in late August. I expected it to be a good hotel, but it far succeeded my expectations. To start with, we began our Venice adventure by trying to find Calle dei Fabri. That proved to be a bit elusive but after asking twice we were show the correct way. The hotel was recently renovated and is very nice and is situated directly between the Rialto Bridge and San Marco, making it a great base location. If going to Venice, I would recommend staying at the hotel, however the city itself leaves much to be desired. Going to Venice is kind of like going to the dentist, as its necessary to do (at least once in your life), expensive and sometimes painful. We booked online in April for our trip to Venice. We arrived on Friday 18th and departed on Sunday 20th May 2007. The Hotel is in an excellent location half way between Rialto and St Marks Square. However the only gripe is that you cannot get dropped to the steps of the hotel as claimed on the website. You get dropped by Water Taxi or Vaporetta (Water Bus) to Rialto then walk for about 10 mins. So if you have loads of luggage better ring ahead and get the porter to meet you. Which they will. We stayed at this boutique hotel two weeks after if first opened in September 2006. Everything was sparkling. We had reserved a basic room, but upon arrival I asked whether it would be possble to have a room over the canal and we were upgraded graciously. The room overlooked a major gondola route and it was worth the price of the stay to look out the window as the steady stream of gondolas passed beneath our windows. As the Bella Venezia only reopened after extensive renovations late last year, we did not find many reviews on Tripadvisor. We originally booked at Hotel A La Commedia, but discovered that their rooms did not overlook a canal. As I had this romantic notion of waking up to the sounds of the gondoliers singing, we did more research and found some reviews for the Bella Venezia on Venere.com. I was thrilled when searching for a place to stay in Venice, to swing an excellent price for a room in this lovely renovated 17th century palace. Very gorgeous, luxurious and perfectly placed between the Rialto and the cathedral St Marco. Lusciously decorated and overlooking a canal, it is elegantly furnished. We've just returned from a weekend in Venice and stayed at the Hotel Bella Venezia. The Hotel was in a great location and our room was spacious, comfortable, nicely decorated and very clean. The breakfast was great and the breakfast room had a lovely view of the canal. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We would highly recommend this for a place to stay in Venice.
