The Library

The Libray is very, very nice. Many times, I study photos for a hotel but am disappointed when I arrive. The Libray was actually nicer than it's photos online -- it is really a incredibly modern and beautiful facility. I did not experience the restaurant, preferring to eat in the local Thai restaurants, but the hotel breakfast was just great. The staff was always helpful and prompt.. but never overly obtrusive. This place is amazing! One of the best Hotels I've ever stayed in. It has character and is attention to detail plus. If you're after more than just a room, if you're after a memorable stay in a place full of character which boasts excellant service The Library is it!!!!!!!!! Very Funky!!!!

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and had an excellent time, the rooms are just perfect and the service is second to none. After a 5 night stay at the Library we moved onto the Six Sense Hideaway, we booked a pool villa which had a private pool and butler service but what a let down it was, we had booked 7 nights here and we checked out after the 1st night and re-booked the Library again. This place is perfect and I don't understand why its rated at number 60

The Library is perfect is a litlle expensive but you can bargain a little with the management . The Library is right in the crowd Chaweng but you have your own privacy.

This has to be the most wonderful place to stay in Chaweng. The staff were so friendly & helpful. The rooms were cleaned over & over again throughout the day. The sheets & towels were changed daily. The rooms were so beautiful, & the decor very modern. So many little extras that made our stay so special. Such as the library full of books, dvds & cd's that you could borrow. Mty credentials - I travel extensively and normally stay in 5 star hotels. In Thailand on this trip we stayed and The Oriental in Bangkok and The Oriental at Chaing Mai before coming to Samui. Despite the justified critism from previous reviews concerning the lack of storage space in the rooms and the lack of English by most staff at the hotel, this is the only place to be if you choose Chewang Beach. The Library is an absolute wonderful place to stay at if you decide to go to Samui. I've stayed at a few of the Chaweng hotels like Amari/Central/Blue Lagoon/Buri Rasa but this is the best. Beautiful large rooms, best part of the Chaweng beach/ just 26 rooms, amazing pool (it's red), great food, wireless internet, great service etc - don't think you can find more bang for the buck on Chaweng than this hotel. We stayed at the Library in June 2007, hotel was a great design very minimalist chic as the websites show. We stayed in a Studio which was large and a very nice touch to have an Apple iMac in the room. Bathroom wasn't designed quite as well, the dressing area with the sink and wardrobe is a bit impractical and the wet room with the free standing bath doesn't have any windows and just white walls, so couldn't spend more than 10 minutes in there without being bored. We have stayed at this hotel just after it's opening in January, actually we arrived on the second day after it. It was risky since based on our experience not all the hotels are opening as promised on time completely finished (this was the case a few years ago with Sala Samui). But since the hotel had a very innovative design it was appealing to us to spend our vacation there. The pleasant surprise was that that the hotel did open on time completely finished. Stayed end of March for 5 days in a studio room. I totally agree with former review. I felt privileged in this popular and crowded that is Chaweng Beach. If you want some animation, just walk 100m and that's it.The most pleasant thing about this hotel, is its calmness, it's peacefull and the staff is very friendly, there are no running and shouting kids(or adults!), you don't feel "pushed" to drink, to dine, to buy or to pay something, you do what you want.... Went to The Library during the Easter holidays. All-in-all an excellent experience. Being a very frequent traveller both on business and pleasure I can say that the design and the concept of The Library (which is part of Design Hotels) is truly unique.
