Nice Hotel
We stayed here two nights and we actually were surprised in a good way since this was the first time we were staying in any Holiday Inn. Its a newly built hotel and the rooms are clean and large with all the basic emenities. The staff are also polite and ready to help with whatever you ask them for. The location couldn't be better, its right on the Oxford Road in the city center. Other posters have complained about breakfast but you need to remember that you get what you pay for. Looking at the price of other hell holes ( they call it... more

You know what to expect with Holiday Inn Express - but this is better
Lovely new hotel right next to Oxford Road station in the heart of Manchester. I have stayed at many Holiday Inn Express establishments throughout the UK and know what to expect. This is no exception, in fact new blue decor in the rooms and swanky black en-suite make it so much more appealing to be in than the stark and badly designed Travelodge rooms that often cost more (and don't include the free breakfast that you always get at Holiday Inn Express!). Can't vouch for all the rooms, but the one I was in had no outside noise at all so... more

Good central location, but poor breakfast and expensive internet.
Stayed here for 4 nights in September 2010 and hotel is well located for work in the university area, being only a few minutes walk to all key locations. Initially, I was given a corner room which had a rather odd, triangular, layout which I didnt actually find that spacious, but as the phone in the room was broken I was moved to another, more conventionally arranged square room, which was fine. Room quality was OK, but there was no real wardrobe in my room, just an open hanging area with only a small number of fixed-on hangers. So, with... more

Good business Hotel
Only stayed one night before s convention. Very modern hotel and rooms. Al the usual mod cons and very clean. Breakfast was the usual fare, adequate, but the room was a little small for the usual 8:30-9:00 business rush. All in all a good functional hotel

Nice hotel let down by rude staff
I stayed at this hotel on 8th September for 1 night the rooms were decent and the staff were rude, unhelpful and not very nice seemed like they just wanted to get back to there conversation. I would only advise people to stay there if desperate!

Three cheers for this place: clean and good value, basic breakfast
Very new and clean hotel, the pictures look a bit foreboding but don't be put off. Ideal for a short stay in Manchester. Centrally placed. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast could be more varied. Great value. Try it.

the room was lovely
The hotel was lovely and clean, the room was excellent overall. However myself and my husband were in a room with disabled access (neither of us were in need of this) which was fine but the shower was a "wet room" which resulted in after we'd both showered their being a huge puddle in the bathroom! Breakfast was nice with a complementory newspaper the toast machine was a little dodgy though. That aside it was a beautiful hotel we'd definatly stay again!!!

Fabulous and central
I couldnt recommend this more, Clean, very tastefully decorated and comfortable rooms, right next to oxford road station, a small walk to all main areas, Cheap taxi to old trafford and what exceptionly lovely staff. On a level with some 4 star hotels ive stayed in.

Clean and comfortable, good location
This is a new hotel ideally situated for Manchester City Centre. The rooms are clean and comfortable with all the usual amenities ... hairdryer, tea, coffee, TV. The only thing missing for me was a bath! The bathroom was immaculately clean with a large shower cubicle but I do like a bath at the end of the day. Breakfast was self service with a choice of cooked breakfast, pastries, toast and cereals. Staff were always very helpful in particular the chap who greeted you on arrival at the main door. There is a Sainsbury's Express... more

Excellent Holiday Inn Express
I suppose you should expect a new hotel to be better than an older hotel. This new hotel is excellent. Welcoming reception. Comfortable public area. Quality bed, sheets, work area, and shower room. The only disappointment was the lack of quality coffee at breakfast - but that is standard in most UK Holiday Inn Express hotels. And it has efficient air conditioning. Highly recommended.
