Hotel Lovec

The Hotel Lovec is situated right in the heart of Bled, and only 2 minutes walk from the lake and restaurants. We stayed in a room overlooking the lake, and it was well worth paying the extra! The view, although with a quiet carpark in the foreground, looks over Lake Bled, the island with the chuch, and the castle. Rooms are spacious, modern, very clean and comfortable. Stayed here in April of this year with friends. The hotel is really well located with easy parking outside the front door. Very modern, recently refurbished, very comfortable and friendly staff. This is an international type hotel; not the place for "a traditional Slovenian experience". The pool is quite small but hey - on holidays I guess you're allowed to skimp on the swimming lengths, We didn't eat at the restaurant but the excellent Okarina restaurant is almost next door. I highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed at the Lovec for 2 nights in October 2006, specifically picked it because wanted to do the pool - steam room - massage bit without having to leave the hotel again. However, the steam room was out of order, and for the massage I had to walk over to the sister hotel as the Lovec didn't offer offer any massages in-house. Rather disappointing, as I had chosen the hotel to avoid just that. Had a room with a nice lake view, but also overlooking parking lot which was a bit noisy on Friday night.

This hotel has been newly renovated and opened so you would expext it to be of a high standard - which it is. The breakfasts are fantastic, and it is worth paying more to have a lake view.....where you can just sit on your balcony and chill. That said, these overlook the carpark at the shopping complex/Mercator and so it is noisy - and you definitely notice the lorries! All in all, it is a good hotel though - just lacks the charm of a rustic pension.......

Absolsutely loved this hotel and everything about Lake Bled. Hotel offers great value for money - we had a small suite with jacuzzi bath and best of all, views of the lake and castle - HARD TO PUT INTO WORDS JUST HOW BEAUTIFUL THIS PLACE IS! 22nd July to 1st August 2006 Have just returned from a 10 night stay in the Hotel Lovec, in Bled. Standards are excellent with air conditioned bedrooms. The wonderful lake and castle views are worth paying extra for. The reception areas are all well decorated and have lovely furnishings which were very useful when waiting for the taxi transfer home. Hotel Lovec has been recently renovated and it looks great. The location is excellent, rooms are spacios and clean, with lovely balconies overlooking the lake. Breakfast is typical, although I think there should be more variety of food in a four star hotel. Hotel also offers spa program which is worth trying. Overall, this is a great hotel.

We really enjoyed the Lovec (despite some indifferent weather) and, having visited the other hotels (including the Vila Bled) would certainly stay hear again. Only the Toplice would possibly top it. Good points about the Lovec: 1) it looks down the lake to the island - most of the other hotels look across the lake. Stayed there two nights on business. I was pleasantly surprised with 4 start Best Western, usually in Slovenia this kind of hotel is more 3 stars quality. This one has nice modern lobby, rooms are OK, breakfast was very reasonable, and lake view was nice. On second day afternoon I came back to my room, everything was clean with exception of bathroom. Very new hotel. Smart 4 star accommodation. Rooms were great - we were upgraded to a two bedroom suite with jacuzzi. It is expensive by comparison with others in town (although check out deals on expedia etc. - we got a good deal at the time) but if you want to pamper yourself this is probably worth it. The restaurant is bright and food was good. We didnt manage to experience the pool facilities - a leak in the pool caused it be to be closed while we were there.
