Koh Chang Kacha Resort & Spa

We stayed at the Koh Chang Kacha hotel 8 nights in February 2008. We stayed in the deluxe seaview room which was ok, but honestly in Thailand you usually get more in 3 star hotels. The room had an air conditioning, TV, balcony barely with a seaview and a bathroom with a bathtub. The hotel area could be more beautiful if the water areas were cleaned more often. I totally agree with the other reviewers when they have pointed out the lack of space at the pool. The sunbeds get taken up very early and this definately hampered our stay as we were forced onto the beach and this (at the time)was dirty- with debris and rubbish washed up daily. We had to upgrade to a deluxe room due to the bungalows quality which were more like beach huts really. I have just returned from The Kacha resort,stayed there for 9 days from Apr.29th to May 8th. 2008 .The resort itself was lovely we stayed in a Seaview Deluxe Villa ,near the pool ,No.115 . The biggest disappointment was that this is NOT a White sand beach ( As described on the net & the brochure Pictures ),like the Dominican or Cuba Or Mexico,and the reports I read before leaving was that there were "Rocks" on the beach in front of the Hotel...well there were " Boulders" in front of the Hotel beach area covered with sharp shells & I lost a... more

Koh Chang is a National Park which means no deckchairs or umbrellas allowed on the beach. So if you like to sunbathe,you must stay around your pool. However,Kacha does not have enough sunbeds for guests.If you don't get a bed,what do you do for the day? The beach is torture with no chairs or shade & 35degree heat! The Scandanavians get up at 7am to reserve their sunbeds! so if you aren't keen on getting up at cockcrow on your holiday,you won't get a sunbed.THIS IS NOT AN EXAGGERATION.The management couldn't care less.<br... more

I walked in to the resort and found Koh Chang Kacha a very nice resort with a great swimming pool by the beach. I moved from another resort and stayed in Koh Chang Kacha for 3 nights in a delux room on the building and we had a very good time there. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped. We have been staying at the Kacha Resort during the past week. Overall we have had a pleasant stay. The poolside bungalow is very clean and spacious and is attended daily. The resort is in a nice setting with lush vegetation and right on the beach. White Sand Beach is not the nicest beach on the island by any means, especially when compared to Lonely Beach, but it has a pleasant vibe at night. Loved Koh Chang. Nice little sleepy island for a bit of much needed R&R after a hectic week in Thailand. Koh Chang Kacha was pretty good value for money. We stayed in a seaview deluxe villa. The room was nice and clean, the bathroom, massive with a big bath tub (we thought it was a spa, but it wasn't). Breakfast buffet was pretty standard. More than sufficient. There is a large supermarket about 2 minute walk away from resort. Lots of shops to browse and places to eat (highly recomment Cookies). Resort situated on nice stretch of beach.... more

We booked a Superior Villa, but where really disappointed when we arrived. All I can say is that I still wonder what the standard room is like... Anyway, my worst nightmare happened when we got home from restaurant at night... there where some really big cockroach in the room and bathroom. After a crazy night we upgraded to a deluxe room the next morning, and what a difference! Lovley room whith a lovley bathroom too! Would absolutely recommend this!

I have just returned from my holiday where we stayed at Koh Chang Kacha. The hotel is situated right on the beach (white sand beach) close to a lot of restaurants and the usual shops. ATM's opposite the entrance on the main road (the only road). We stayed in a deluxe bungalow, with enough space for a family of 4 as long as the children are small (ours are 6 and 10) as there is only enough room for 1 extra bed. But this solution is better than Kacha's family bungalows since these are very old and worn down (Some friends of ours... more

Very worn out Superior Rooms. We stayed in such a room for 4 nights, and luckily we were upgarded to the much better Deluxe Building. This upgrade only cost us 500 baht per night! The Deluxe Villas also look wonderful. We stayed at Kacha for 12 days. Pool area is lovely and great for children - our 3 year old son loved it - however you should get there in time, if you wish to get a pool chair. Overall we had a wonderful stay at Kacha.
